In this brief excerpt from Lionel Richie's August 24, 2017 concert in Toronto, the artist greets the audience with a candid, improvised monologue. He references personal pain and a decision to leave, mentions a Sunday morning departure, and quickly shifts to energizing the crowd with a call to start the party. The remarks blend humor, self‑reflection, and motivational hype, punctuated by a spontaneous Russian phrase “Попробуйте!” ("Try!"). The tone oscillates between confessional, playful, and rallying, illustrating Richie's effort to connect emotionally while building excitement for the show.
