This is why we love a snow day 😄🥰

Minghai walks Lake Ontario's shoreline after the first snow of the season, pointing out the Toronto skyline and CN Tower. He warns that black ice forms when temperatures drop below zero, a serious safety risk. By late May, he says, the snow will give way to green foliage.

Hi guys, I'm with the mask on. So winter is here and I'm smiling. You can see I'm not really particularly unhappy because why? I'll tell you. This virgin snow is all I'm happy about. This is so— love the snow. You know, love the virgin snow when it comes, when it's falling for the first time, then it's really beautiful. So we're going towards the lake. We're walking, we have these boots on which has a grip, and, uh, we're walking towards the lake. This is the lake. This is the lake. Lake Ontario. This is the real Christmas tree, and then the snow has melted. But if I had come a little earlier, I could have seen it covered with real snow. What are the temperatures? This is not black ice. There are particular temperatures. This is water, but sometimes this— you won't be able to understand— this becomes black ice. The moment the temperature falls into below zero, these patches of water turns into black ice. And that's the most dangerous thing. We're going to— this is a lake. It's sub-zero temperature now. We possibly cannot get into the water. So I'll just crunch on the snow for you guys to see and feel. This is very thin layer of snow, so it's not really very thick, very thick layer. And I'll go till here. The rest of it is all slippery and watery. No point in going further, I'll slip and fall. That's a beautiful— it's not an ocean, it's a lake. And there you can see Toronto. Let me just zoom in. There you see, that's the Toronto skyline. Can you see the CN Tower there? That's your destination if you want to come here. This is a pier. The sun is up today, which is why we are so happy. This is full of muddy— it's very muddy, but right now I think the temperature is above zero. Which is why the water hasn't turned icy. But as soon as the sun goes down, all these water patches are going to become ice, which means it will be all slippery. And that's called black ice. We'll stick to the road. That's a beautiful sign. Yeah, it's a beautiful, uh, view. I'm still not wearing gloves. Hands in my pocket is good enough, but very soon we will need gloves like these people. The trees are all bare. Now it's going to remain bare till May. So in end of May, they're again going to become all green and Kanad is going to sprout, burst into greenery. Okay, thank you for watching. Bye-bye. We're already wearing our winter clothes. So hope you enjoy my video. Please like, share, and subscribe, you know, and that way you can watch more of Canada videos. Okay, this is Minghai.
