Why is Ganesh, the elephant god, called Ganapati, and not GAJA-PATI

The presenter explains why the Hindu deity is called Ganapati, not Gajapati, through a myth where Parvati's child gets a boneless alien head instead of an elephant's. She connects this to a broader theme linking religion and science, drawing parallels between the Kaaba, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Shiva as an extraterrestrial figure.

Hello everybody, all my subscribers and my friends and family who watch me so often. Hello to everybody. I am so happy to be with you. I think I look better with my hair open, don't I? So let me just, you know, like open my hair because some people will say, oh, you're not looking good, why didn't you open your hair? And why didn't you look good on your video. So I'm— I have to also look good in my videos. So I don't know, I don't know. Anyway, so today we're not going to discuss anything controversial that's going on in the world right now. Things are a little settled down in Afghanistan. Settled down, you know what I mean? So the Taliban are not chopping off people's hands as yet, and they're thinking Okay, so everything is done. When do we start shooting? When do we start culling the people? So they haven't started doing that as yet, though they don't have an inclusive government for which other other countries are getting together. So that's a totally different ballgame. What I wanted to tell you, this is just to inform you, to give an information. I held. in, uh, one family first from escaping from Afghanistan and then 6 other families. So in total there were 8 families which I and another person called Elizabeth, we kind of helped in escaping from Afghanistan. We, uh, started a GoFundMe campaign where we raised— surprisingly, we raised around $10,000. And people are like Still wanting to give money to us, you know, to the to the person who escaped from Afghanistan. And that escape is one story which I'm going to take an interview one day and of that person, and we're going to I'm going to explain to you. It's it's the escape is one hell of a Hollywood movie. So so I'm not going to give us like spoil you give you a spoiler on that. Because that is exclusively his story. So he's going to tell me, of course, on, on my channel. Let's see if I can pull him and get together, you know, for that story. So meanwhile, I wanted to tell you is that there have been so many things happening in my life, I haven't been able to record it also. So meanwhile, I published my book, which is WTF, I Found God. So you must have seen a little bit of snippets or the Facebook Book launch, which I did online. So I'm taking this liberty to read out parts of the book, which I think would be of interest to you. Looking forward to the Ganesh Chaturthi, which just we just went by. You know what? You know, do you know that Ganesh is not? It's called Ganapati. And not Gajapati. So we call the Ganesha's head— we somehow think that the Ganesha's head is that— is the head of an elephant. It is not. So let me just read out that part to you. Okay, so this is in this chapter called God and Aliens. So there's this chapter called God and Aliens. And in this chapter, there is a lot of crop circles are given. The Kailasha Temple of India is mentioned. And later on, when I go into the how gods, aliens influence religion, so I talked about aliens in Islam in this part on page 69. I'll give you the link below so you can download your free copy. You don't have if you want, you can hold— you want to hold a paperback, of course you can. But, uh, yeah, but always there's always the free copy, the Kindle copy that is available for you to read it. So it's on page 69, Aliens and Islam. So, um, I'll just tell you the Islam parts, uh, in short. Or do you want to listen to the Ganapati stuff first? Okay, so let me Let me just tell you this down part shortly. Every day, 5 times a day, Muslims across the world face the holy site of Mecca and pray. Mecca is believed to be the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad, but when followers visit the site, it is not actually Mecca they are facing, but a building called the Kaaba, or simply— yeah, so Arabic word Kaaba simply means cube. This is an extremely simple structure Measuring about 15 meters high on a 10 centimeter into 12 meter— 10 meter into 12 meter base. It has an interior beautiful green marble hall with 3 pillars, entered or seen by selected only a few people. Nobody can enter that hall. The Kaaba, this cubic structure, strangely reminds us of Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Remember, I don't know how many of you, of my viewers— I'm sure my viewers are of that content and that genre who would watch 2001: A Space Odyssey, right? So, uh, if you've watched that movie, you see there are black rectangular monoliths are placed all over the universe by an unseen extraterrestrial species. These 3 monoliths were discovered in the solar system by hominids and humans. The first monolith. Okay, that's okay. It should be now obvious that the Kaaba, being a customary black-colored cube— this is the actually the stone at the base of the Kaaba, so we know what the Kaaba looks like, we all know that— it is a kind of a symbolic equivalent to the monolith of The Monolith in 2001. So we have a kind of an extraterrestrial link to the Muslims. And Islam always says that Allah is the, um, is a Lord of all things. Like in Christianity, they say Lord God made them all. So all includes everything, terrestrial and extraterrestrial, aliens and other planets, anything, anything that is, uh, in this planet and beyond. So it's— no religion is actually, um, restricted their views into just this planet, you know. So that is what I have explored in this book. So in this chapter, God and Aliens, you know, how God and aliens are connected, whether gods are actually aliens who've come down to Earth, which here I have said is Shiva, the ultimate alien. It seems Shiva had— is an alien god. Okay, so Look at my— I'll take you a small detour to look at my painting over there on top. You can see that is my Shiva, the alien traveler. So I painted that because Shiva haunted me in my dreams one day, and I was seeing Shiva in my dreams. I was very surprised because I'm not a religious person, and neither am I a Neither am I a believer of Shiva. So I realized that it was, it was what I was writing in my book that was coming to me in this form, you know, like Shiva. So I did a lot of research on Shiva and realized, and I came to know, that Shiva is actually like Prophet Muhammad, Krishna, Jesus. Everybody had, has a birth and a childhood. You could, you can read about their childhood and their death. But Shiva doesn't have a birth story of their birth or their death. Shiva has no siblings. He has no parents. He has only a wife and four children, like we know Ganesh, Kartik, and Saraswati, and Lakshmi. We don't even have any connections of Shiva actually giving birth to Saraswati and Lakshmi. We just know that we just know that he he had relationship with Parvati or Durga. So that relationship actually happened over a period of— huge period of time when Shiva actually— it says, okay, let me read this part out. Shiva arrived in a flash of light, disappeared in a flash of light. He is believed to have lived in the Himalayas, predictably the Kailash Mountain, where he lived and did yoga on top of the mountain in a bare body. He drank snake poison, which is why his neck is represented as blue in color, and savored weeds of various kinds found in the Himalayas, which is why we could— he could stay bare-bodied in the snow. Some yogis do that even now. I met one personally in Kolkata this time when I visited. I met a sadhu who was speaking fluent English and who actually lives bare-bodied in the snow, and he was wearing Sweaters and jackets in April heat in Calcutta. So that's when I asked him, how are you wearing that? He said, it's all in the state of mind. I mean, exploring that realm is so tantalizing for me, but I mean, like, I really want to get into that later part of life, definitely. Just exploring that, uh, thing called mind. And this is just the beginning to explore your mind, you know, because I have realized throughout this journey that the mind is everything. Mind is everything. There's nothing beyond mind. Okay, so, okay, the presumption that I will write now will muddle your brains further. Why Shiva is considered an alien among all gods, that we know because of the following reasons. Though we know the birth and death story of— like I said, so here Sadhguru, um, actually pointed this out first on YouTube channels. So she said Shiva is Swayanbu. He has no siblings, no parents, no lineage. There's no story of his death either. Okay, so no temple or monument has been given attributed to built in any place where he has supposedly died. Okay, so now we don't know if he's a human being. First of all, we don't know he's a human being. So Sadhguru is the first person who said he could be an alien. He could have come from some other planet, some other civilization altogether. Okay, so here is the story which is very sounds very which is very which makes a lot of sense to me. First of all, let me tell you why is curiously there's a statue of Shiva engaging in the engaging in the Nataraj Tandava dance at the campus of CERN in Geneva. Do you know that? So in Switzerland, where recently the God particle, the Higgs boson particle, was under experimenting, smashing atoms with the particular— sorry, particle accelerator. So where— in a place where the highest of scientific experiment was being taken, was being conducted, why is the statue of Nataraja over there? Kept in front of this building. This is the statue which has been kept in front of the Sun, and there's a writing over here why it was explaining why it is there. So that writing I have transcribed it, and I've like, I've kind of written it over here. So this is the writing over there why it is explaining why is this statue over there. Okay, you'll have to read the book to find out that. The belief is that Lord, actually Lord Shiva danced the universe into his existence Motivates it and will eventually annihilate the universe, creating another. Interestingly, Carl Sagan had drawn the similar metaphor between the cosmic dance of Nataraja and the modern study of the cosmic dance of the subatomic particles in his seminal book Cosmos. Sagan saw a Shiva in Cosmos, which is here with me right now. So there is the this book Cosmos with me. So yeah, so I'll have to find the page. I don't have it marked, the page. So where he says Shiva is a kind of premonition of modern astronomical ideas. Okay, so there's another very interesting thing which I wanted to— why— now let's get to that story of Ganapati, why Ganapati is called Ganpati and not Gajapati. So here it sounds— this, uh, this is what the story is. So it is said that Shiva abandoned Parvati— bear with me with the story— probably a human in Lakes Manasarovar for over 10 years. He went off somewhere. So lonely and rejected, and with her desire and maternal instinct, Parvati decided to create and breathe life into a baby. She took a part of herself, a bit of sandal paste that was on her body, mixed it with soil and made it in the form of a baby and breathed life into it. Now this may sound mythical and you may laugh at it today, but today test tube babies, IVF babies, surrogacy are all household concepts, right? It is similar to someone taking an epithelial cell from you in the very near future and making a human out of it. Just the way you use animal cells today and create Beyond Meat. You'll find my video of Beyond Meat. I think I'll link it to this. So I was tasting Beyond Meat, and that's a, that's a real, uh, revolution in meat technology. So Parvati breathed life into it, and the little boy was born. A few years later, when the boy was about 10 years old, Shiva returned with his gunners. Now, who are Ganas? The mythological tale goes that Parvati was having a bath and she was told— she had told the little boy that no one should come in. The boy had never seen Shiva, so when he came in, the boy stopped him. Shiva was not willing to be stopped, so he cut off the boy's head off when he came to Parvati. When Parvati saw a Saiyan lying headless, he flew into— she flew into a rage. So to settle this issue, Shiva took the head of one of his gunners. Now, who are the gunners? The gunners are actually boneless— where did I write it? Head of the— okay. Okay, so the gunners are actually like amoeba kind of structures, creatures who have limbs without any bones. Okay, so they are from some other planet altogether. Where have I written that? Okay, and because Shiva— it is said that Shiva is also a gunner, but is as hideous as a gunner. But because he, uh, he had that— he had reached a realm called the 11th dimension, which I have written in this book also, talked about the dimensions, the different dimensions and the different parallel universes. So Shiva had, because he had reached the 11 dimensions, he could change his form to whatever he wanted to. So that is why he came to us in this kind of a resplendent human being, like the way you can see over here. He was a very handsome looking man. Okay, this is not the real picture of Shiva. This is my interpretation. But yeah, you all know that Shiva is the ultimate god. Now all of you who have been worshipping Shiva and Shivarati, You will find it a little unnerving to know that he is actually one of the ganas, and he was as hideous and ugly as the ganas, who had no bones in their body, only limbs. So what happened is that here, to settle the issue, Shiva took the head of one of his ganas and placed it on the boy and resurrected him. The boy is worshipped all over the world by Hindus as Ganesh or Ganapati. Hmm. So the mythical story makes a lot of sense because you might not find an elephant on the banks of Mansarovar Lake in Himalayas, okay? There's not even enough vegetation for the elephant, okay? Which is why it makes perfect sense the elephant could not have been on the way of Shiva at that time, whose head he could have cut off and placed on the little boy's shoulders. That's believed in mythology. Somewhere down the ages, calendar artists could not understand what this creature was, so they drew drew an elephant's face. The lore talks about how the ganas had limbs without bones. In the land of the Hindus, a limb without bones meant an elephant trunk, so artists made it into an elephant head. Hence, the god with a head that looks like an elephant is actually Ganapati, Ganesha, or Vinayaka. You will notice that he is not called Gajapati. Gaja means an elephant, right? So if he was— that was the head of an elephant, He would have called Gajapati, not Ganapati. So this is— these are the very, very curious things that are included in this book. I've like kind of scoured the internet and tried to build a bridge between religion and rituals and all kinds of, all kinds of things that we do today, worshipping Shiva's phallus. Okay, so we worship Shiva's phallus. Why do we worship Shiva's phallus and what is the reason behind this? And draw the entire thing parallel, bring it down to science. Like, I'm not saying down, that's a wrong word to use. Bring it up to science. Okay, let's put it— it's parallel, it's really parallel, I would say, because the mind and the science has not advanced enough yet to get to the mind of a human being, map the brain of a human being. Scientists have just started mapping a an insect. It is just halfway through. So human brains are yet to be mapped. So obviously scientists cannot vouch that they know everything. Okay, so what we do not know, we do not know. Science also cannot vouch they know that, right? So I've tried to draw a parallel. I've tried to draw a bridge, a connection between religion and science. And I have tried to— I have established that they actually are on the same plane. The same platform. They do not, they are not contradictory to one another, they are complementary to one another actually. So, this is the book for if you are curious enough about the world. So, the chapters are, let me give you so that, you know, if you can, if you are interested in the chapters, you will be able to, maybe, you know, you will be able to make a screenshot of this Chapter. Okay, where's the chapters? Chapters, chapters, chapters. Here's contents. So this is the contents part, so make a screenshot of it. And if you like the contents, okay, you might want to read it. I'll just read out the contents. Why is God absent during COVID Because I wrote this book when Afghanistan— in fact, published this book just before the Afghanistan So I would also say that why is the demon in the seats of power? Where is God now? So part 2 is God and aliens, which I spoke a little bit about. Part 3 is God and religion, God and time travel, God and the parallel universe, God and death. So we have eternal curiosity, what happens to us after we die? Do we meet God? This is all explained here scientifically. God and astrology. Even astrology has been explained here scientifically. God and AI. God and the future humans. God and DNA. God and singularity. So whether the AI and singularity is going to take us over in the near future. Oh God, it's going beyond 20 minutes. And the final chapter is God and dark energy, something we have not yet been able to understand, comprehend. Even Dr. Misha Kaku has kind of not been able to. When I start talking to you, I cannot, I cannot look at the time. I'm sorry, I feel so connected to all my viewers that I do not look at the time.
