Kareen Mills grew up terrified of being visible because of her accent and grammar. In 2018 she started a podcast not as a hobby but as a deliberate tool to face that fear and improve her speaking. She says overcoming visibility anxiety takes sustained effort, not a sudden shift.

In 2018, I started being fearless about visibility. As a person and woman that came from a third world country, I was so afraid. This was my old version. So afraid to be judged when I spoke because I had broken English. I was so afraid to speak in wrong grammar. But it didn't come overnight. It didn't come without hard work. It didn't come without overcoming it. Especially beginning in 2018 when I started my podcast. In fact, my podcast was actually part of my strategy to be a better communicator.
