Kareen Mills points out a double standard: when mothers leave their kids, people ask who's watching them. When fathers do the same thing, nobody questions it. She argues both parents are equally capable caregivers and we need to stop assuming mothers are the default parent.

That question would never be asked if it was my husband. It would be celebrated. Absolutely. There would be no inquiry. When we're away from our kids, we get inquiries about who watches the kids. And I kid you not, I have the best husband in the world that is super— it's like, what do you mean? There's 2 parents. What do you mean? Like, you don't think my husband's capable of watching just as much as I'm capable of watching my children and parenting my child?
