Drinking a lot of water can actually be bad for you. A lot of health experts are telling you to drink extreme amounts of water to stay hydrated, but in reality, you need to achieve the opposite. By drinking too much water, you actually dehydrate yourself, and there's a term for that called water intoxication. The key to proper hydration lies in electrolytes, not just the water itself. Drinking excess water just flushes out essential electrolytes from your system, and that's why you constantly feel lightheaded, nauseous, and have muscle cramping. So make sure you add some electrolytes into your water. Also incorporating electrolyte-rich foods like banana, oranges, coconut, and water into your diet can contribute to maintaining a balanced hydration level.
