BREAKING: Toxic Chemicals in popular Menstrual Products

In this video, Kashif Khan reports on a recent Indiana University study that tested 59 reusable feminine hygiene products—including period underwear, reusable pads, menstrual cups, and incontinence underwear—from North American and European brands. The study found that nearly one‑third of these products contain extremely high levels of PFAS, the so‑called “forever chemicals.” Even items marketed as natural, organic, or eco‑friendly were not exempt. Khan explains that manufacturers add PFAS to improve leak resistance, water repellency, and stain‑proofing, which means the chemicals are in direct contact with highly absorbent skin and can enter the bloodstream. He concludes with a consumer‑focused call to action, offering a curated list of PFAS‑free brands to viewers who comment “menstrual.”
