Bamboo fabric is marketed as eco-friendly but uses hazardous chemicals like carbon disulfide and formaldehyde that stay in the finished textile and absorb through your skin. Linen and wool are safer alternatives.

I just finished looking at all fabrics and found which ones are toxic, which ones are not. I'm going to share a list from least to most, but first I want to give you an example to open your eyes. Bamboo, being touted as eco-friendly, sustainable, organic, and clean. Have you ever looked at what it takes to get bamboo into the fabric form? Toxic solvents, intensive chemical processing. There's something called carbon disulfide, which is used to create the pulp. It's then processed further with chemical additives like formaldehyde, bleaching, softening agents. All of these things used to take that raw pulp and put it into the form where it can actually be used as a fabric. All of these chemicals are left in the textile and your skin absorbs them, taking less than a minute to put them into your bloodstream, making you sick. So stay away from bamboo fabric. Opt in for things that are non-toxic like linen and wool. And as promised, I made a list ranking all clothing materials from the most to the least toxic. Just comment the word material and I'll DM it to you for free.
