Lots of folks ask me exactly how to reach out to someone on LinkedIn or beyond and ask for a recommendation. It's very nervous making for them and they have lots of insecurities about it and I so understand. But here's the exact language you can use or adapt to reach out to people so you could say something like this hi Sally, Great to see you on the platform and read all about your great developments and insights. It's really inspiring. I'm spending some time right now building up my LinkedIn activity and profile, and as you're someone I think so so highly of, I'm wondering if you'd be able to offer a few words of endorsement about the experience of working with me and anything else that stands out for you about what I bring to a work relationship or organization. I'd be so grateful and I'm more than happy to do the same for you. Thanks so much in advance. I truly appreciate it. So that's it. Now remember this, if they don't respond, don't take it personally or feel like a loser, they many, if not most people, find it difficult to write something like this and are afraid they can't write something good. So just move on and ask someone else who might be helpful and might be generous and do the same for them. I hope that helps. Good luck.
