Kathy Caprino - International Women's Day 2021 #ChooseToChallenge message

Hello, everyone. I'm Kathy Caprino coming to you from Women up on International Women's Day, March 8, 2021. This year's theme of International Women's Day is a powerful one. It is choose to challenge. You can find out more on internationalwomensday.com but here is the crux of the message. A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions. All, all day, every day. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. And collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change. So let's all choose to challenge. In my recent book, the Most Powerful youl, I share what my research has revealed are the seven most damaging power gaps that 98% of professional women face today. And over 75% of women are facing three or more of these power gaps at the same time. These gaps keep us from thriving at the highest level in our life and work. And power gap number five is acquiescing instead of saying stop to mistreatment. So now is the time for us to choose to challenge what we see around us that is unfair gender bias, gender mistreatment, inequality in all of its forms. Now is the time to choose to challenge.
