Teen Health Connection proudly presents the Dr. John G. Johnston Award for Outstanding Sustained Leadership and Service to Adolescents.
An award for outstanding sustained leadership and service to adolescents. Oh, Anne Clark, our school superintendent. Cool. She's been in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hallway since what, 1983?
She's really the face of CMS. I can't imagine anyone else that has put in the time and the energy and the commitment and the dedication to children in CMS more than Ann Clark.
And then was National Principal of the Year. I guess you have to be pretty dedicated doing that.
She has an incredible legacy here, both in terms of everything she's done for kids, but also what she's done for educators.
I just look, I mean, look into the faces of kids and, you know, people say the kids are our future, but I don't know that people believe that. Like, I believe that. And so that would be my wish for Charlotte, is that when you look into the face of a kid or you look into the face of a teenager, that you really do see the future. And Ms.
Clark, you can tell she's not just here for the job.
Presumably, if you don't know her, she has a tough exterior, but I think when you get to know her, she has a melting heart.
It's strength of character, and it's a commitment to education and children and A community that supports that.
Ann Clark is unafraid to do what it takes to lift up the lives of all our Charlotte-Mecklenburg students. She's unafraid to take the risks, to speak in a straightforward manner in order to push forward the agenda for all of our county's children.
The bottom line, why is Ann Clark the person that was chosen for 2015? Take a look at our community. Take a look at her contributions since 1983. We talk about sustained commitment. She's got the drive. She's got the keep it up, keep it up, keep it going, and we all follow. Thank you, Ann.
