Chapters
We have really had some major breakthroughs with this deployment of healthcare pavilions, putting care close to where people live.
Located on I-77 at Exit 25 and the intersection of Statesville and Samfur Roads, Carolinas Medical Center Huntersville's 24-hour freestanding emergency department brings a new definition to patient satisfaction and state-of-the-art care.
At a freestanding emergency room, the lab is dedicated solely to the emergency room, so therefore patients can have a much faster in-and-out experience.
Our goal with the laboratory is to treat everybody as a stat patient because this is an ER. Get them in and get them out.
All our physicians are emergency medicine residency trained. They're all board eligible, and the majority are board certified. Many of our nurses, they're very experienced with pediatric patients. The types of emergency care that can be provided, it can range from anything from a sore throat, laceration, cardiac arrest, stroke, heart attacks, traumas. We're very capable of managing all those patients.
The new emergency department really allows us to just expand and, and give a higher level of care to the patients in this region. The very unique thing about the Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute is that we cover all phases of cardiac illnesses from birth to to elderly years, so we take care of patients along the whole spectrum of life.
One of the best qualities of a freestanding emergency department is the ability for the nurses to actually triage their own patients. From door to triage, triage to the back, just having the same nurse, the same physician, and the same healthcare technician is a big plus in the freestanding emergency department.
With direct access to the region's only Level 1 trauma center and Levine Children's Hospital, On-site imaging and palm scans to reduce paperwork, Carolinas Medical Center Huntersville is dedicated to convenient, coordinated, and comprehensive care.
When you come in at the, the first desk, they get a very simple registration from you— name and date of birth— and then once you get in the back, they complete that registration without delaying any of the care.
And when it's time for a follow-up doctor visit, outpatient surgery, or physical therapy, The pavilion means specialized care is just footsteps away.
We have great working relationships with all the physicians at CMC Huntersville, the pharmacy, radiology department, so people can come to CMC Huntersville, get everything that they need.
It's just a great resource. There's been plenty of times when we've had a patient that needed a next level of care, and it's just good to have something on-site to refer that patient down to our ED without having to call an ambulance.
We can get your prescriptions electronically. You can get everything done under one roof. It's a continuity of care.
We are so proud of CMC Huntersville. We believe that the accessibility here in Huntersville, Davidson, Cornelius, Mooresville, and the entire Lake Norman region has improved dramatically with the opening of this freestanding emergency department. And to be able to provide an access point To Carolina's healthcare system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right here in the Lake Norman area, is something that we're so proud of.
