Let's take a look at this latest innovation from Continental. There are 3 main components: tire sensors, the Yard Reader station, and the web portal. A sensor is installed inside each tire and transmits a signal containing that tire's pressure and temperature every 2 minutes. The Yard Reader station collects sensor data when the vehicle is within about 65 feet or 20 meters and sends it to the County Connect web portal via cellular signal. The portal allows your team to view tire data in real time and explore reports historical data and trends. You can even set up alerts to be sent to your phone via text message or email so that you know about tire issues even when you're away from the office or the shop. The installation's easy. We start by mounting tire sensors in tires. Then we find the best location for the YardReader station. This would be somewhere that vehicles pass through frequently, perhaps at the guard station, wash bay, or maintenance shop. We'll need to connect to a power source. After that, we configure the vehicles with the handheld tool and set your vehicles up on the web portal. Then every time your vehicle stops within range of the Yard Reader station, pressure and temperature data is transmitted right to the portal for viewing.
