The video records a home dedication ceremony organized by Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the City of Charlotte, and multiple corporate sponsors. The ceremony introduces the new homeowners, Stephanie Thornton, a 27‑year‑old shift manager at Bojangles, and her 8‑year‑old daughter Onasia, who will occupy the renovated house. Michael Elder, CEO of Goodwill, thanks Habitat Charlotte, the City, and the presenting sponsor Lowe’s, which contributed a $40,000 grant. Additional partners—including Whirlpool, Piedmont Natural Gas, Fifth Third Bank, Charlotte Compress Systems, Lifetime Building Products, DryPro, Aaron Neely Gutters, and Duke Energy—provided appliances, materials, labor, and energy‑efficiency education. Speakers highlight the project as a model for future home rehabilitations and new construction, emphasizing community collaboration, corporate generosity, and sustainable building practices. The event concludes with a warm welcome to the new homeowners and expressions of gratitude for all contributors.

My name is Stephanie Thornton. I'm 27. I am a shift manager over at the Bojangles over here on the plaza. This is my daughter. Her name is Onasia. She's 8.
And I want to introduce Stephanie Thornton and Stephanie's Daughter Onasia, who will be the occupants, the proud owners of this beautiful home that you're getting ready to see.
At the count of 3. 1, 2, 3!
I'm so excited about it. I just wanted to move in right now.
I'm Michael Elder. I'm the CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. We want to thank Habitat Charlotte. We want to particularly thank the City of Charlotte.
And on behalf of the city, I want to thank all of you who've been involved with this, and I do think it's a true model for going forward, not only for rehabs, but hopefully for new construction as well.
It's just a real great feeling for us to We want to particularly give thanks and credit to our presenting sponsor, which is Lowe's Companies. They have helped us in many ways, not the least of which is a $40,000 grant.
The culmination of what you see and will see today, I think, is just a testament of the partnership that Lowe's has with Habitat, Goodwill Industries, and the City of Charlotte.
This has been a labor of love for a lot of folks out here. Thank you for all your hard work and all that you did. When you go through, you're gonna be impressed with the appliances in here because Whirlpool really has done some amazing things in this house. I would just like to say this is a great opportunity for all of us.
Many other partners that contributed products or labor, those include Piedmont Natural Gas, Fifth Third Bank, Charlotte Compress Systems.
Just amazing metamorphosis for this piece of property, and we're glad to be here helping.
Lifetime Building Products.
We're very involved as far as with Habitat. This is our first time with Goodwill, but it's been a great relationship.
DryPro and Aaron Neely Gutters. And I also want to mention that we have a special partner that is our energy education partner, and that's Duke Energy.
Duke Energy often refers to energy efficiency as a 5th fuel. Helping customers to save energy in their home and use less actually helps Duke Energy out.
Please welcome our new homeowners.
Habitat is an amazing program, and I'm excited that Goodwill is a part of it as well. So I'm just happy. Thank you.
