There are so many children in crisis situations. 45,000 kids in Mecklenburg County that feel disconnected. There's, there is need, and the Relatives provides hope. There are many children out there who are faced with growing up way too young, who have to figure out life, and life can be difficult. The idea There are so many children in need who are in crisis, who are unable to live in their homes for whatever reason, is really disheartening and concerning. And I think about how fortunate I am, and just outside this wall right now, there are kids who are really struggling. It feels something that as a human being, we're compelled to do, which is support and help others. We're here at the OnRamp, and it's nice to see that these kids have a place to go where they felt cared for. Absolutely, I think The Relatives is successful. I mean, just look around and see and interact with the kids that are here.
The Relatives is an awesome program. It really gave me resources, an outlet to, to the career that I want to build.
The Charlotte Ballet Dancing with the Stars Gala, which will be held March 7th, is one to raise money for the Charlotte Ballet, but to also bring awareness to local charities and to raise money for both causes. What eventually made me make the decision to participate was the folks who are using the services of the relatives are in actual crisis mode. Things that they're dealing with that is nothing compared to 5 minutes of discomfort on the stage.
We got to move as we would go.
I don't know what my surprise dance move is. My children the other day told me though, you're not singing, are you? And I said, no, this is dancing. They're like, oh yeah, you might be able to do that.
I would say that Miss Jennifer, I'm very proud of them, and I just love the people who donate here because they see a future, you know. So I really just want to appreciate them and thank them that they're giving me hope.
I'd like people to vote for me. The relatives means hope to Charlotte.
