The video is a promotional/educational segment from Kim Brattain Media featuring medical reporter Suzanne Stevens, Dr. Brown (a dermatologist at the Dermatologic Laser Center), and a patient named Tori. Tori seeks fuller lips after lifelong comments about her thin lips. She chose Dr. Brown based on friends' positive experiences. The segment explains the procedure: a nurse applies numbing cream or a nerve block, and Dr. Brown personally injects soft fillers—primarily Juvederm Ultra (FDA‑approved, longer‑lasting) or Belotera. Dr. Brown emphasizes aesthetic principles, such as adding more volume to the lower lip than the upper to achieve a natural look, avoiding over‑filling, and subtly enhancing lip lines for balance with the rest of the face. The injection process is shown, and Tori reacts positively, noting minimal swelling and a natural appearance, though she acknowledges friends might notice an enhancement. The video highlights the art and technical considerations of lip augmentation, product attributes, patient motivation, and perceived outcomes.

We've seen the dramatic results when Dr. Brown injects Sculptra in the face. Now we'll see Dr. Brown bring some puff and sexiness to thin lips.
Hi, Tori. Hi.
Are you excited?
I'm very excited. I'm looking forward to getting something done with my lips.
Why are you doing this? My—
ever since grade school, people have always said, your lips are so tiny, and they're pretty much nonexistent, so I want them full.
And how did you choose Dr. Brown?
I have several friends that have had work done by Dr. Brown, and they all look great, so I trust that he'll do a good job.
The lips are sensitive, so your nurse here at the Dermatologic Laser Center will apply some numbing cream or use a nerve block like at the dentist. A lot of physicians have their staff do the injections. Dr. Brown does them himself. Also, his technique is probably more complicated, but definitely worth it, as you will see. There is an art to the placement of the filler. Dr. Brown likes for lips to look natural and not overdone. For lip injections, we like Juvederm Ultra or Belotera because they're soft fillers. Juvederm is FDA approved. The Ultra product lasts almost twice as long as the other fillers. It's basically just a gel, and it literally takes just a few minutes to take off 10 years.
One thing we don't want to do is just to put volume in the upper lip, which you so often see. That is a mistake because it looks unnatural. If you look at most people who are young who have nice lips, the lower lip, and even in her, is larger than the upper.
Mm-hmm.
So when you put volume back in lips, you want it to look like it was not done, that she was just born that way. And you have to put more volume in the lower than in the upper lip. We don't want to overdo it. This whole area here is the lip, really. She needs a little support in this area to make things look right. So I'm going to put some filler in here as well, as you'll see.
Same filler that goes in the top?
Yes, Juvederm. And she's lost a little bit of the definition in the lines that go up, these grooves here. So we're gonna just enhance those slightly, not much. And once that is done, you can see that her nose and her eyes and her lips will achieve a different sort of balance. So?
I love it. I'm really happy with the way it looks. I thought it would be a lot more swollen, but it looks really good.
And in terms of it being natural, unnatural?
It looks really natural to me. I mean, my friends will probably be able to tell that I had something done because it enhances or makes me look better.
Your whole face.
Yeah, but they won't know exactly what was done.
With little or no downtime, you too can have some fun with fillers, either with Sculptra or lip augmentation with Juvederm Ultra, the new long-lasting filler, FDA approved and right here at the Dermatologic Laser Center. Ask Dr. Brown or your nurse which of these fabulous fillers is right for you. I'm medical reporter Suzanne Stevens for the Dermatologic Laser Center.
