In this short award ceremony video, Persian Gulf War veteran Prince Moses shares his gratitude for Goodwill’s Job Resource Center, which helped him transition from combat service to a full‑time counseling position with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He describes the personal transformation and positive life changes resulting from the support and training he received, while other speakers commend his work ethic and the role Goodwill played in fine‑tuning his skills. The segment concludes with a congratulatory acknowledgment of Prince Moses as a Good Work Award recipient.
I'm a combat veteran, a Persian Gulf War veteran. That's why I have some scarring, scar tissue on my face. Goodwill is a great resource for veterans. I used them. They helped me. So, you know, I was— I'm just grateful.
Prince Moses now works full-time counseling other veterans for the VA. He got the job after going through the Goodwill Job Resource Center.
I think that's key. People may have some skills, but maybe there's other little fine-tuning that they might need that they can get through Goodwill. He's an awesome, conscientious worker.
I think with everything that was offered to the services at Goodwill and getting this job and seeing my life progress and seeing positive changes, And I'm, you know, just appreciate the change because it's, you know, all I can do is smile about it. I can look back and say, hey, look at me now.
Congratulations, Good Work Award recipient Prince Moses.
First, I'd like to thank God. Let me get myself together a minute, then I'll— a little nervous. Uh, I came to learn about Goodwill through a suggestion from my wife, along with a referral from the Cabarrus County Job Link veterans representative. Goodwill provided a supportive environment, allowing me to seek employment As well as interactions with the great staff that provided lots of encouragement. Miss Mercer and other Goodwill staff at the Concord job site just met me where I was at that particular point in time in my life. This support and encouragement allowed me to seek And now maintain employment with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where I work as a certified peer support specialist assisting other veterans. Any time in your life when you can go from one extreme to the other, it's just awesome. Because they allowed me to see What I can do, and that opportunities are blessings. I cannot say enough about goodwill. They just allow people to see that they can strive, meet that goal, and when they get that goal, goodwill shows them that you will. And I can. Thank you.
