In this testimonial, Dr. Billy Price describes how practicing within Wellness Coalition America has transformed his professional life by granting him full independence over his medical practice. He highlights the ability to spend ample time with each patient, leading to more thorough diagnoses and stronger physician‑patient relationships. He can refer patients to trusted specialists rather than being limited by hospital networks, and he openly discusses pricing, which benefits patients with high‑deductible plans. The model eliminates insurance‑driven compromises, allowing him to act solely in the patient’s best interest, provide counseling, and manage complex cases selectively. The overall result is greater professional satisfaction, a more rewarding work environment, and better care for younger, healthier patients.

If I had to sum up what it's like to work in this format in a single term, I would say it's about independence. I have the independence to run a practice the way I was trained to run it and the way I want to run it. I spend the amount of time with patients I need to spend on a patient-by-patient basis. This allows a more relaxed, thorough, and personal approach to practicing medicine. I can really get to know the patient. This makes me a better diagnostician and a better physician. I have the independence to refer to specialists I know and trust, as opposed to having those choices dictated or predetermined by a hospital system or a large multi-practice group. For many patients, this creates significantly greater value. Since there can also be substantial differences in cost between providers of similar quality, I am free to tell patients about pricing so they can make informed decisions on cost. This is very beneficial to my patients with high deductible plans, especially those with limited incomes. Finally, everything I do is in the best interest of the patient. There are not compromises, shortcuts, or workarounds that are often necessary to meet the needs of insurance protocols. That, of course, changes everything. Wellness Coalition America has changed my professional life. I once again enjoy coming to work every day. I now work in an environment with no time constraints and see younger, healthier patients who appreciate the level of care I can provide. They also appreciate the time I can spend with them and the care I can devote to them. I now have the time to provide counseling, which in many cases is equally important as the actual prescription of therapy. My referral pattern is much more selective because I have the time to manage more in-depth cases. The bottom line? I can be a better doctor. That's good for my patients and good for me.
