Good morning from Bella Vista, Arkansas. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. I am getting ready to pack up my things, toss them in the car, and hit the road heading back to Phoenix. And I started thinking about how my packing— everybody asks me about— I only take about 30 minutes to pack all my stuff up, throw it in the car, and go. And I've been doing that for years, and everybody always comments, don't you forget things? How can you pack so quickly? Believe me, I have never been one of those people who takes a week to pack their things. I'm one of those people that needs to every day put something in, stay in control, be very precise. I am not. I travel with the same things pretty much, so it's easy for me to know what I need, know what I have, know where it goes in the same bags. Toss them in quickly and get on the road. But I'm very efficient with that because I have built a routine of how I pack and how I load up my car over the years, and it saves me time. I don't have to think about it anymore. I just do it because I've done it so much. So I got to thinking about routines. Routines are great. They help us be more efficient in what we do. They help us not waste energy thinking about things that we don't need to think about. If we build in routines and systems in our business, that's great because we just— it just goes. But routines can also be unhealthy. If you have a routine that you're just doing that over and over and over again because it's familiar, because you've been doing it that way forever, take a look at that today. Take a look and see, are the routines that you have built in good for your business? Are they good for you? Are they feeding you positively and moving you forward? Or are they holding you down? Are they holding you back? Is it time for a little disruption, a new routine? Today's Monday. It's a great day. My One Thing Monday. Make your one thing a new routine this week. Build in some consistency. And efficiency that you don't even have to think about after a while because it comes— becomes routine. I'll catch you guys tomorrow on another Daily Spark.
