It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. Put me in, coach! I'm sure you've heard that sometime over your lifetime. Put me in, coach! When you think of that, you think of sports, of course. Kid that's sitting on the bench just itching to get in the game. It's like, "I know I can do it. Put me in, coach. Put me in, coach. I can save the day." We often feel like that, I think, as entrepreneurs. We think we have to be on all the time. We think we have to be in it all the time and Sometimes we feel overwhelmed because we're not stepping back, writing down goals, and putting a timeline to things in the right context. We all want to say, put me in, coach, when something's going on. I'm starting to get more mobile now, and I'm itching to get back on the road and get back in things. I feel like I'm missing out on things I should be there for. And I'm feeling that put me in coach today, this weekend. But I know when I step back and look at what's going on and how I need to get back in slowly to what I'm doing, the reality is it will be June. It will be at least 6 to 8 weeks before you can put me in coach. I'm not ready. I'm not healed. I'm not at my strongest to be able to do my best if you put me in. Now that doesn't mean I can't do anything. I am doing things that I can do now to build myself to that point when June comes. I will be confident to say, put me in, Coach, and I know I will win that game. Now sometimes we have to do it even when we aren't sure that we will win the game, and you have to be ready to say, "Put me in, Coach." But I'm challenging you today, if you're feeling that way, that you just want to get in there on everything, maybe it's time to step back. Maybe it's time to bring someone else in like a coach that would tell you, that would see outside of what you see and give you the best advice, it's not the right time to put you in. But it will happen if you train properly, if you build properly. So if that is the case for you, check out a good business coach, get a mentor, talk with your friends, have them hold you accountable, because The day will come when you'll be ready to say, "Put me in, Coach." Join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
