Good morning from Gilbert, Arizona. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. Preoccupied. I know you know that word. I know you have been or are preoccupied with things that you need to get done, things that you are thinking about that are not things that are right now in the moment where you are. I'm laying here when they come in the room and try to help me. I know they're preoccupied with what they need to do as soon as they leave this room, or what they just did in a room prior to mine. You can feel it, you can sense it. I know by their actions of what they're doing in the moment in this room that they're totally preoccupied with something else. And I do it too. I know you've done it. We get preoccupied even in conversation when somebody's talking to us and we can't wait until they're done because we're thinking about what our response is. So we're preoccupied with what we are going to say, what our comment's going to be as soon as they're done talking. We're not 100% listening to the rest of what they're saying. Preoccupation can really damage conversations. It can really affect the productivity in the moment of what you're doing, the task at hand. We're so preoccupied with what needs to be done or what we think is gonna happen, we're not totally focused on the moment. What about right now, this holiday season? Are you enjoying those moments with your family and your friends and the things that are happening right now in this moment in front of you? Things that are present right now. Or are you so preoccupied with the lists and what has to be done and what will be done and what's going to happen tomorrow and what happened yesterday and everything that we have to do after the holidays that you're missing the enjoyment of the here and now? The the moment right now. So try to stop the preoccupation of other things and enjoy more of the here and now, the present, the moment that you're in. Because we miss a lot when we allow ourselves to be preoccupied with things that haven't happened yet or that happened to us already and we're hanging on to. That maybe we need to let go and move forward. So I hope you're not preoccupied with too many things for this holiday season and you're enjoying yourself today. And join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
