Good morning and welcome to a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. I'm gonna have to change my greeting. Good morning from a different location every day isn't going to happen for the next few months, but that's okay. I'll figure out something else to do and move forward because that's what we have to do, right? This is the last day of 2018. Tomorrow is the first day of a new year. All I've seen for the last couple of weeks, especially this week, is lose that weight, plan that stuff, use this planner, buy this, buy that, get the new you started at the first of the year. I'm not buying it. You know, I don't want it to be a new me. I just want to keep plugging along with the me that I am. Just a little bit better today than I was yesterday. That's all I can ask. These big huge changes that they want everybody to do, lose all this weight, become this amazing productivity guru, have your life totally in order and scheduled and everything going like clockwork. If you're not doing that already, buying a planner or joining a gym or getting on a weight loss plan, that is not going to make it happen. It is little steps, people. Let me tell you, I've been trying this for a few years now, adding things in one at a time. And it takes a long time to make those significant changes. Now, I'm not saying don't try. If you're ready to go, by all means do it. But don't get yourself defeated before you even get out of the, the gate by thinking and buying into this hype of New Year, New Me. If it's not the right time for you, don't force it. But I will say I started something called My One Thing a couple of years ago on Snapchat, and it was that realization that I had that I needed to do— what is that one thing I needed to do for myself every day regardless of what was going on? I just needed to do it for me to make things better for me. To make sure that my day went better. So I started this thing called My One Thing, and it kind of took off on Snapchat. I had a lot of people feeling the same way. It's like, I just want to do one thing for myself, one little thing, and then if I can just add that to my schedule, make that a habit, then I can add something else. Once I don't have to think about it anymore, I'm just doing that every day. Like lemon water. Bunch of us were doing lemon water. It was one little thing that made a huge difference on, on many levels. Not just because lemons are good for you and drinking water first thing in the morning is good for you, gets your metabolism going, but just the routine of doing it every morning was good for people. So I challenge you today, start that My One Thing. It's My One Thing Monday in my group today. What is that one thing you're gonna do every day this week for you. Doesn't have to be big. As a matter of fact, try not to make it big. Just one little small change that you can add in that takes less than a minute to do for yourself. Let's start there. Join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
