It's a new day, which means new possibilities. I'm Kim Gaskill, and this is the Daily Spark. Yesterday I got the stitches out of my ankle. I took the cast off and put on a new boot. That's a huge step in the right direction. Still can't put any pressure on it for 12 weeks, but just getting that cast off, getting the stitches out, is like a milestone. Just like being able to get up out of the bed for the first time and get into a wheelchair and move was a milestone. It's going to be little things like that that mark the, the healing process as I go through this journey. And I got to thinking about milestones and how we mark significant steps along the way to reach our goal. Or to get to a destination, whether it's traveling, whether it's goals in our business or our personal life. And last week I reposted a post from John Tesh where he said, this year put a jar up, an empty jar, and every day at the end of the day write down something good that happened to you that day. And throw it in the jar. Because at the end of the year, we tend to forget all the good things that happen to us, and everybody can't wait to get into the next year. But if you do that on New Year's Eve this year, you can open that jar and you can look at all those things that you can be thankful for that went well for 2019 that you probably forget about. But if we never mark any of those milestones, if we never write anything down— another friend of mine, Brian Fanzo, he does this thing called Screenshot Awesomeness, and he has a whole collection of screenshots of things that he's done that he was proud of, that were milestones, that had meant he, he made an achievement, he did something well. And so he does a screenshot and keeps those, and he's able to look back on that on his down days and see, you know what, I do have a lot to be thankful for. I am awesome. I have done a lot of really good things. So it's important to mark these milestones and find a way to do that for yourself this year. Have a system where you keep track of those accomplishments and those milestones that you hit. So that at the end of the year you can look back, or anytime during the year that you need to, you can look back and say, "I'm doing great. Look at all the things that I have achieved so far." Catch you again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
