It's a new day full of possibility. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. What is your workflow like? Are you one of those people that plans everything out, you kind of work all day long at a steady pace, you draw it out over the entire shift or the entire day? Or are you one of those people that likes to wait to the last minute and hurry up and try to get everything done on a deadline? Or do you like to knock everything out of the park first thing in the morning, get it all done, and then you have the rest of the day pretty much free to do whatever comes at you? You know, it's important to understand how you work best. That's where you're going to be most productive. One of the things that they do here that is a little bit annoying is they do 12-hour shifts. So they come on at 6 PM and they go off shift at 6 AM. And there are several of them that come in at 6 at night and really don't do anything all night long, but then 4:30 rolls around in the morning and they're scurrying around trying to get everything done on their checklist that they need to have done for their shift. And it's a little bit annoying for the patients, especially if they're asleep, but that might be the way that they work. That might be the way that they are, are most productive with what they need to get done. If you fight what your normal workflow, the most productive workflow is for you, you're going to feel frustrated. You're not gonna be as productive. So I challenge you to find out what is your best workflow. Take a look at how you do your task, how you complete the work that you need to do on a daily basis. Are you always rushing around at the last minute, getting frustrated because you don't have everything done and you feel that you're behind the 8-ball? Maybe you need to change and start getting the bulk of your work done at the very beginning of your day, or at the begin— beginning of your shift. If you find that you're worn out by early in the afternoon, maybe you shouldn't do so much in the morning. Spread it out a little bit more during the day instead of doing it all in the beginning and then you're beat and unproductive the rest of the day. It's important to monitor those types of things to get the best bang for your buck. And if you want a dedicated work block where you just knock out 2 hours of steady work uninterrupted, join me on Wednesdays in my Go Connect! group and help push you for 2 hours of steady work in a coworking session. We get on, we work for 25 minutes, no talking, and then we take a 5-minute break, and then we come back, put our heads down, work at our task again, and we do that for 2 hours. You would be surprised at how much you learn, how long it takes you to do tasks, how much you learn about having all of the things you need to complete a task before you sit down and start your work. A lot of things can be developed, a lot of good work habits can be developed by joining one of these coworking sessions. So think about it and join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
