Welcome to a new day full of possibility. I'm Kim Gaskill, and this is the Daily Spark. Are you respectful of other people's time? Are they respectful of yours? You know, time is one of those things we all get the same amount, 24 hours in a day, or just shy of that. And how we manage that time is so different with each person. And here there is a lot of wasted time. It drives me nuts because I am a slave to everyone else's schedule. So when I try to plan my time out, it constantly gets interrupted because they all have something they need to accomplish and they all have their schedules that they're on and none of them coordinate the schedules very well. So there are things that overlap and get pushed back, and they're not very consistent. Today is a perfect example. Since 4:30 this morning— it is now 8:30— so the last 4 hours I've been trying to do one thing, but I keep getting interrupted. They're not respecting my time because I try to plan. I know how long it's going to take me to do it, and If I get interrupted and don't finish, I know how much energy that takes for me. And I only have limited amount of energy, just like I have a limited amount of time in a day to accomplish what I want to. So I challenge you today to think about how you're respecting other people's time. In social media, that's a huge thing. Are you going live just to go live? Are you providing value or service or helping people break up their day and entertain them or make them smile. If you're just going live to take up time, you're wasting people's time. If you don't have content that you're putting out there that's valuable, if you're just putting out content to put out content, that's wasting people's time. Because even if they know it's something they don't want, they've taken time to, to investigate if it's something they want. And I'm guilty of that too, and I think about that all the time when I put out content. A lot of times I'll refrain from doing things because I don't see a value in it, even though people tell me there is. So just be aware and also speak up. When people are not respecting your time and let them know you're trying to make the best use of your time during the day, because I don't think anyone purposely wants to do that. Join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
