It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill, and this is the Daily Spark. Water will take the path of least resistance every time. I'm taking a shower this morning, and I'm noticing the water hit the back panel of the tub and flowing down the tub into the drain pretty easily. Easily, no resistance there, nice smooth flow of water until I put my foot sideways in it. And then I noticed the water hits the side of my foot, and instead of going up over my foot, it kind of splits to each side and goes around the heel and around the toes and then back directly to the drain. And I'm thinking That's pretty cool. Water knows that it takes more energy to go up over my foot and fight gravity than it does to split and go to each side and go around it and then gather back together and go use gravity to go down the drain. And you know, we are what, 70-75% water as humans? I'm thinking, why don't we know that? Why don't we choose that path of least resistance, take that easier way of doing things instead of fighting it all the time and making things harder than they need to be. I know I do, and I'm sure you have too, fought and fought and fought against something. It's like, you could do that so much easier. Why are you resisting doing it this way? I see people do that all the time, and I don't understand why. You know, I worked for my father when I was young, and he taught me a lot of lessons. And one, one thing I'll always remember, he said, always hire one lazy person. And I'm thinking to myself, why? Because it just makes more work for me. But his belief was if you hire one lazy person, they will always find the easiest way to do a job, and then everybody else on the crew benefits from that. I'm like, well, that makes a lot of sense. And, and we did, you know, there's always that one guy that everybody complains about that is lazy, doesn't want to do anything. But if you think about it, they are figuring out the path of least resistance so they can put the least bit of energy into what they're doing and effort. Excuse me. And that isn't always a bad thing. How many things are you doing that you're putting more energy into it than you need to? There's an easier way and you're fighting it. Look for that path of least resistance. It doesn't make you lazy. It doesn't make you a quitter. I'm trying to tell myself that because there's something I need to do. I don't want to. It is the path of least resistance, but I don't feel comfortable with it. I think that I need to do this on my own, and I feel like I'm giving up if I do that. So that's something I need to deal with today, and I hope that you can find the path of least resistance and have a great day. And I'll see you again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
