It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. I love to sit and drink my coffee and watch the sunrise. I've done that for a long time. It's my best morning when I can do that. Been kind of gray here since I've been in New Jersey. I do miss my Phoenix sunshine. But I'm sitting here this morning and I'm playing Candy Crush while I'm drinking my coffee. Sitting here waiting for the sun to rise. And I'm thinking to myself, why am I playing Candy Crush? Why am I wasting time? Doing this? You know, that phrase "I used to" is dangerous. I used to get up in the morning and write when I was waiting for the sun to shine, or to rise. I used to read books first thing in the morning in my quiet time. I used to do a lot of things. Why am I not doing them now? When you think about it, it's like, what do we let creep in? For me, it's Candy Crush. I'm playing Candy Crush every morning now, which is a terrible time suck and waste of resources for me to do that. I could be doing so many other things that are beneficial, because that does absolutely nothing except frustrate me and waste time. It's a activity that I don't have to think about, even though I do have to think about, like, the movements. But I got into doing it after the accident because I couldn't do anything else. I couldn't focus. I didn't have the drive or the, or the ambition to even try to do anything in the morning that I used to do. It was a slow process getting back to just getting up in the morning. And now that I'm getting up early again, I've got to start looking at what I'm doing in that first hour because it does affect what I do for the entire day. So I need to get back to what I used to be doing that I know is good for me. So what is it that you used to do and you're not doing anymore. You replace it with something like Candy Crush that is a waste of your time and a waste of your skills, and you should be filling that time with something else. Think about it. Catch you again tomorrow for another daily spark.
