It's a short solo vlog/monologue in which she describes waking to unexpected snow in South Jersey, mentions her brother traveling north, notes a dog barking that required a retake, reflects on the beauty and impermanence of snow, and signs off encouraging viewers to "find the beautiful" and return for the next episode.

It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. Well, I missed the snow in Phoenix, which was kind of crazy, but I woke up this morning in New Jersey and guess what? There's snow, about 2 inches. I didn't think it was going to snow here this early. I looked at the weather last night because, uh, my brother is traveling north to go see his son at college, and we were checking the weather because of course it's always snowy and bad weather on the way up to Vermont, but, uh, didn't expect it here. And we, we looked and it said it was going to snow in New York this morning, but I thought it was either going to miss us here in South Jersey or it would be later. My bad. But snow is beautiful, especially in the winter when the trees have lost their leaves and it's pretty brown. There's a lot of woods here at the back of the yard, and, uh, you can see through them in the winter. And there goes the dog barking again. This is my, my second take because she started barking at the squirrels running across the snow on the first take, and she wouldn't stop, so I had to, to, uh, restart the recording. But, uh, yeah, snow is one of those things that has its pros and cons for sure. It's beautiful. I love it. It's got it. There's a couple inches on the trees, on the, the roof, across the backyard, on the benches. It looks so pretty. But if you look out in the front where the street and the road is, not so much. Once the cars start driving on it, it gets all dirty and, and broken up. And as it melts, it causes issues, gets all muddy in the backyard. But right now it is beautiful. So I challenge you, find the beautiful, because sometimes it doesn't last, just like snow. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it for a moment. Have a great Friday and enjoy this weekend, and meet me here again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
