It contains a short English solo monologue by Kim Gaskill offering a motivational/business analogy: her sister-in-law makes protein shakes that her niece often doesn't drink, and Kim relates this to customer behavior—do your best to provide value but you can't force others to consume it; they'll engage when they're ready.

It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. This morning my sister-in-law came down, as she always does, puts together a nice tasty protein shake with peanut butter and all the things my niece loves, blends it up, sets it on the counter, has it all ready for her when she comes downstairs before she goes out and gets on the bus. Now this process goes on quite often, and my sister-in-law gets frustrated that her daughter comes down, goes out on the bus without drinking the shake. She knows she likes them. She doesn't understand why she goes through all this effort and energy to make them when she comes downstairs and sees that she's just left it on the counter or put it in the refrigerator and not consumed it. So I told her today, just keep doing the process. The days that she wants it, she'll drink it, and the days she doesn't, she won't. But you stressing over it isn't going to change the situation. All you can do is your best. You have it there, you provide it for her, you tell her that you'd like her to take it, but ultimately the decision is up to her. And it's the same when We're trying to get customers to do things in our business. All we can do is provide the value for them. We can't force them to consume what we want. They'll do it on their time when they need to, or when they want to. All we can do is our best every day, put it out there. —so that it's available when the time is right for them. Think about that today. And join me again tomorrow for another Daily Spark.
