Kim Gaskill uses weather as a metaphor to explain how our perception of challenges depends entirely on perspective. What feels like a hardship to one person is manageable to another, just like how 70 degrees feels cold to someone from Florida and warm to someone from Minnesota.

It's a new day. I'm Kim Gaskill and this is the Daily Spark. Everything is relative. I'm standing out here on the deck. It's about 48 degrees. Some people would say that's cold, but because mornings have been in the 30s, I find it actually quite refreshing. It's all relative. Relative to how cold it's been, it's actually a nice morning, even though it's gray, it's been rainy. It's going to get up to about 67 today, which is fantastic unless you've been used to 80-degree days. And then you would think it was chilly. It's all relative. Everything is relative. When you think you can't handle something because it's too much, you think you're at your breaking point, something has hit you financially or health-wise or relationship Something that you think is so bad, and then something else happens, or something else is put in front of you that you see, and you realize it's all relative. Where you're at isn't nearly as bad as where someone else is, or where you're at isn't some— some nearly as good as someone else. You think you're just sailing doing great, and then you look around and find out, man, I've been slacking. I am definitely not putting 100% in.
It's all relative.
I'm gonna work on that today because sometimes we get in our heads of what we think is going on around us, and just remember, it's all relative. It's not as good or as bad as you think it is. When you compare it to something else. I hope you have a great day. Find me everywhere in the socials at E-C-O-T-E-K, that's Ecotec, and I'll find you here again tomorrow on another Daily Spark.
