Hey! Cheers.
I'm going to play a really loud, fast one to test the dynamics of the string.
Somebody else on the piano. time, but I don't mind. I must be blind again. I don't know if any other easier way. You know, I'm looking at the words. Better say suggestions with hands, suggestions with eyes, and a lot of people possibly think it's our disguise. What they know won't hurt or disturb us. What they do could make or break us. So let's not give it a name, let's just Thank you.
This is a song called Introduction. It's a song from a previous album I know people—
No time for chew. Through the torture, through the hour. Through the torture, through the hour. Through the torture, through the hour. Through the torture, torture, torture.
Valentina, thank you for watching. Thank you, Dan, for giving a talk. That was really excellent. And thank you, Salon 48, for having me. Cheers. And this is called Victoria 303.
That song, Victoria in Technicolor Eyes. And I know we've got a plan. Underneath the winter, straight out on top of the air. Seems to be we are on our own. Seems to be we are on our own too. You know how I wish it could be better. It could be better. We got a better car. Wife and driver brought in secondhand synthesizer. In month of May, I felt raindrops pouring south-east to my head. Synthesizer, thought we had one. How I wish we got a dancer. We got a dancer. Oh, we got a dancer in our home. White van driver hugging secondhand synthesizer. In the mud lake, I fell on raindrops. Pouring sand there. You took my hand, said to say I thought we've got more time today than tonight. Are you in or are you out? Seems to be that we are all in. Are you here or are you out? Insist we are on our own.
I'm going to do a bit of an instrumental with a bit of lyrics because the aforementioned thing that makes your voice lower is not present. Bad workman and all that sort of stuff.
So, cool.
Thank you.
What does Marcus say? What does Marcus say? What does Marcus say? What does Marcus say? Belgian stations, escalate on to Belgian stations, wide shoes. Bergestation escalated up to here. Bergestation.
So what's the vocal to guitar ratio like on a scale of 1 to 10? 1 being perfect, 10 being fuck you. That last track, not this one, the one before, that was just really nice. It was quite gentle, but the voice was lovely. So more of the song before that last one? Yeah. Thank you, fascinating. Seriously, best piece of voice.
All right, cool.
I'm going to go, uh, straight to the next instrumental track and play a song called Flame Doe Doe.
Hope you like it. I don't like that. You sing along with the voice. Fade out, though. She said, babe, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby blue. It's got a hold of you. She said, how long have you sat behind that crack of lint just looking at the light? I don't know. Wanna go dancing? Wanna go outside? Morning movie, Matt and me, dusty pixel in the sunlight ray. That's it. Wanna go outside? Keeps happening.
Never ever ever ever ever set a gauge string that is 5 times lower than what you play, because it just keeps skipping out. Not to complain or anything like that, but kind gift, but cool. This is called Beyond the Gate. This one's for Dan and Nate, because I love you guys. I'm sorry, Kit.
I know that. Thank you.
Oh, oh, I know. Yeah, they're mine. I know, right? Hey, thank you.
Thank you. Or a question in your mind? Would you let it out, start again? Would you let it out, let it out, start again? Just tell me another story. Cuz I can't afford to wait and see me waiting. Throw me out of the cage. Throw me out of the cage. Tell me another story, 'cause I can't afford to wait yet. We are the game. And I'll wait there. Tell me another story, 'cause I can't afford to wait and see me wait there for beyond the day. Tell me of this morning, 'cause I have a voice to raise from beyond the gate, from beyond the gate.
It's not an original song, but it's a song I like.
Yeah, cool.
Thank you, Bradley, Studio 48. Songs 48, that's Studio. I have my own parallel world now. Just going to put that string back where it belongs. That sounds better.
Cool. Sweet.
Again, this is the last one. I'm Alec. I have a thing. Project called Pre-Valentina. Dotted around this venue, on that table, that table, and that one with the snacks— good job— there's flyers for a gig I'm playing. Not to plug another gig at a gig, but, you know, support, right? It's on the 3rd of August, it's at the Book Trade in Bristol, and it's going to be with a band and with things that make your voice louder. At least it's been a good exercise. There were other ones I was going to play tonight, but I guess you'll have to go to that gig to hear those songs. Teaser. So, right, yeah, cheers. Enjoy. I'm gonna sit down for this one. It's amazing. It's almost like, almost like the thing that makes your voice go louder is like a crutch. You can kind of stand near it. It's like a guiding principle in life and on stage. So I will sit down now and stop talking and do what it's supposed to do.
We're taking different roads, yet the stillness of you that we've kept through our lives. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart again. Why is this bedroom so cold? You turn away on your side. Here's my tongue, I thought. Our respect runs so dry, yet still this appeal that we've kept through our lives. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart again. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart. Love will tear us apart.
Yeah, come on.
Yeah.
Probably fucked up tuning doing that little epic little outro there. Forgive me. And, uh, is it much the same, is it? If not, none of you hopefully will notice. Unless you're avid guitar fans, which obviously you are. Obviously.
Cool.
Give this one a sec. And then, uh, yeah, let's go. So, um, World Cup's on. Yeah, good victory for England there. I don't know why I'm supporting England. They did well. Their next game's against Panama on Sunday. Oh well. What else have you got out? You've got like— I have music on Spotify under the band name Nobody. I'm on Bandcamp under a project called Violet Urchins, and that's, to my knowledge, the only parts of me that are on the internet.
Okay.
Yeah, and Facebook and that, so there we go. But yeah, Pre-Valentina doesn't really have a Facebook page, has an Instagram page, Instagram: pre_valentina. Couldn't believe by the a look. I just settled for "make" but it was cool the day before Valentine's Day and 6 months later or so, here we are.
Cool. That's already too loud but still stink cool.
For certain members in the audience, this song features the use of C and F predominantly.
Hopefully when this E string's in tune. Let's call that, let's call that 68 in tune. Cool. I first saw you, you had on blue jeans. Your eyes couldn't hold. I've been walking And I saw you breathing. I saw you breathing. When she comes, better watch yourself. She's going to play for a fool. It's true, it's not hard to realize. Just look into those false-colored eyes. She'll build you up to bring you down. What a clown, 'cause everybody knows the things she does for teens. Just such a little tease. See the way she walks. Hear the way she talks. She got a ledger in a book. And number 37 have a Should build you up to put you down. What a clown. Everybody knows the things she does to please. She's such a little tease. See the way she walks. Hear the way she talks. See the way she walks. Hear the way she talks. Everybody knows. See the way she walks. Hear the way she talks. See the way she walks. Hear the way she talks. Thanks. Hey.
