An artist shows the second version of a large oil painting called Storms over Eggardon Hill (180x60cm). She makes multiple versions of commissions while the original is with the buyer, letting her keep exploring the theme. She's pulling this one into the studio to study before starting a new version.

So this is the second version of a commission I made last year. It's Storms Over Eglin Hill. It's a 180 by 60 or 6 foot by 3 foot painting, oil on canvas as usual. And the reason I make 2 or 3 versions of a commission is because I'll work on a commission for between 4 to 8 months, so it's a long time and I might as well make something in that theme because obviously the commission goes to the buyer So it's nice if I then have 2 or 3 other versions that I can, you know, keep or, or, you know, explore different versions of and different ideas. And that's really what I'm doing with this one. So I've got an exhibition coming up in October, so I'm really— I've just pulled this one out to look at in my studio and sort of think about, yeah, how I want to paint it and what ideas might come to me. So I'm just going to be looking at it in my studio for the next few days, and, uh, yeah, hopefully I'll get some sort of inspiration and I'll get started on it.
