TREINO ABC: Descubra Se Vale A Pena

In this instructional video, fitness coach Rodrigo Barros critiques the traditional ABC training split (Chest/Triceps, Back/Biceps, Legs/Shoulders) and explains why it often fails to maximize muscle growth. He first points out that the split assumes six weekly sessions, but missed days are common; missing a session reduces a muscle group’s weekly stimulus to once, which is sub‑optimal because optimal hypertrophy benefits from training each muscle at least twice per week. He then highlights a structural flaw: pairing two large muscle groups (legs and shoulders) in the same workout leads to compromised performance, especially when a demanding leg session precedes shoulder work, limiting shoulder development. To solve these issues, Barros proposes an “alças musculares” (muscle‑chain) approach: combine chest with the front and side deltoids and triceps in one session, combine back with posterior deltoids and biceps in another, and reserve a dedicated leg day. This re‑distribution ensures higher training frequency for each muscle and avoids overloading two large groups in a single session, leading to better overall development.
