Larry Weidel explains the "Always Be Improving" principle from his book Serial Winner. Small, deliberate changes to your habits, thinking, social circle, environment, and what you consume compound into real results. The idea is to tinker constantly rather than wait for big breakthroughs.
Another big parallel between sports and life is that you can always improve. There's always some area that you can improve in. I cover this in my book serial winner like the ABI principle. Always be improving, always have your eye on what can be better. You know that people come up with great inventions and this, that and the other. Well how about coming up with great inventions for your life? How can I improve my life? What would make my life better? You know, you know tinker with how you do things, how you think, who you friend, who your friends are, where you go, what you read, what you expose yourself to because any little improvement in your activity is going to give you an improvement in your results. But that doesn't happen by accident. If you have improvements it happens by all good things happen by design. So push for improvements. Push for a little bit more greatness in your life. Why not.
