Larry Weidel explains why stepping back from daily operations helps entrepreneurs innovate. He argues that constantly solving new problems, rather than repeating old solutions, is what drives real business growth.
I think that the number one thing that every great entrepreneur has shown me over the years is that you're always going to continue to face these things, and you've got to figure out how to tackle them. And that is such a key thing. You don't walk into entrepreneurship thinking eventually this is all going to be in a nice, neat bow. What you do, if you want to grow your company and you want to get better, better, then you're going to face things that are new, that are challenging, whether that's a new competitor, whether that's a crazy economy, whatever that is. So I think that is such a key thing for people to hear, too.
