How To Get Explosive Growth

Larry Weidel and David Kattan lay out a four-step system for explosive recruiting growth: standardize training like basic training, run regular orientation meetings, give new recruits a concrete personal plan, and move them toward part-time management. Recruit two people a month and you hit 4,096 in a year through duplication.
All right, David Kattan, we're talking. And Dave, do you run into this problem where people say, oh my goodness, how do you ever get a recruiting explosion going? You know, they hear about explosive growth, popcorn growth, and they go, how in the world can you ever get that going? Because you know, it takes me so long to get my first recruit, you know, so how to get a big time explosive growth program going. And you ever, you know, do people, you run into that a lot?
Yes, we do. People asking that all the time.
I guess we just got to do a better job of getting that picture in their mind. Right. I just don't know why it's such a big hang up, do you?
I think there's no clarity once it's clear, once they have the picture. And I think if you take the time to just draw out that picture for us, that's going to really help a lot.
Well, you know, the thing is we do all of this stuff or I have in the past the four point game plan to explode, you know, to explode your business. And we go down through all of that. Recruiting is the number one focus. We'll do a talk on this sometime. Make sure everybody starts on the same page. That's why you standardize. It's kind of like the army. All the recruits come in through the same basic training program. So your opportunity, your expansion meetings are all the same. People hear the same thing. You know, you might recruit them one on one, but eventually they come in and they get an opportunity expansion orientation meeting so they understand exactly what they're getting into. And then the third thing is they get their own plan so they understand, you know, the first step, you know, these are the two steps to get them in and then the last two are the two to get them started. You know, they get their own plan right away so they're not phony. So they know these words become reality to them. They find out for real if all of the stuff we're saying is really true. They find out the details. They get a chance to ask all their toughest skeptical questions them and their spouse can think of. And that starts their trip. You know, this really turns the flips the on switch. But the fourth thing is they get into race to part time management and you know, whatever you're calling it, you know, sales leader, district leader and we always call the district leader. So you want to, you got to be activating people to get into management quickly or you're not going to be able to handle the waves of new people coming in. So we do that with it. But then people just somehow they don't have the picture in their mind. And, and so could it be, Dave, that you need a growth picture to go along with this?
You think, yes, picture, 7,000 words.
You know, do you have a particular thing that you show people? Because I think everybody's afraid that the Amway circles and the network marketing circles, and they don't want to ever show that for fear that, oh my goodness, somebody will say they're some kind of multi level network marketing scam thing. And so they refuse to put a zero up there, you know, or a circle. Whereas when you're diagramming corporate charts, they use those things. When you're diagramming army structures, you do that. When you do it with football teams, they're using circles. Why can't we use circles?
I don't care if you draw squares or circles.
Here's where the deal is. When you start with yourself, it's your, you're a seed going in the ground. You know, it's, it's the same thing we do about, you know, how are you going to go the three forms of addition. I won't go through all of that. But if you, you know, we got a video on that in here. But if you, every month you're going out there and you're just recruiting one person, you know, you're not going to grow fast if you go out there, but you can grow if you just accelerate it by getting two people recruited every month. Now things start to become a little magical. You know, you go from one to two to four in a month and at the end of 12 months, work your way down to where you have in your 12th month recruit 4096 people. Whereas in this situation, you know, you magically recruit yourself down to where you have one, you know, you know, December of this year, let's just say you started in January and you're just getting ones in the power of ones. Guess what? In December, you still recruit one. If you recruit two, it may seem slow, you know, good gracious, it's been 90 days. Third month we got eight recruits. But by the time you get down to the 12th month, that compound is going to get 4096. Now if you go in here and stretch it a little bit more, and let's face it, that works. If you go out and you recruit two people your first month and you never recruit anybody else the rest of your life, but then you help your new people get two recruits their first month, you help them do that, and let's just Say they never get anybody else except those two. But out of all their friends in contact, that they can get too, if you help them. But let's say they never get enough. But now you, you and all of these up here, we all now go out and help these new people get two each. You see, you're growing a lot faster at the same time. You know, you are at 2 and 4 and 8 here, 8 at the same time you're here, you're still at 1. Just three or four months now you get an 8, 16, it's multiplying. But now if you pick it up a little bit further, you know, you're a go getter. You really want to move faster. And you do the unheard of thing of going out and getting three in a month and you set that pattern in. And let's say you never recruit anybody else except those three and you help them do the same thing. You keep that going. Do you know, if you do that by the time. I don't know what it is in 12 months, but I do know by the 10th month, by October, see, that's, That's December. December. By the time you get to October in this little game plan, you're going to have 53,000 recruits. And so, you know, so multiply that times, you know, 350. You probably got to have a half a million people if you keep it going through December. But it's just. This is how popcorn growth works. Now in reality, let's go in the real world, nothing works out perfect in the real world. So in the real world, you go out there and you get three people. Let's just say you go out and you get three. Well, you get one person. This guy, he ain't gonna get. Usually one guy's gonna get nothing. Then you get another person. He might get one. And maybe, you know, he might. There's a chance he might get somebody. This guy. Oh, he's talking about, he's going to get this one and that one and whatever, and he never gets anybody. But this guy actually gets one. Now this guy, he gets three. He actually gets three. So now look at this. You've been a massive failure. You're two out of three, didn't get three, but you still got four people. You know, you got four. Now, that doesn't count any new ones that you happen to go out and get. Because now you're trained, you know, you've been in the business a month or two, you know, you've got more contacts, more knowledge, you know, you're Getting your confidence. Who knows, you might have thrown, you know, a couple in there yourself. So now look what's happening here. Now we get the same game plan. We challenge them just like the four point game plan. Because here we've got them recruited, we've got them, they've understood, they've got a chance to go to management just like everybody else. We're giving everybody the same chance. They get their own plan. So you're making money doing it. Nobody is forced to buy but you know, they get their own plan because they want their own plan. I mean this is a fantastic thing. I mean to get your finances organized in the worst case, you're in great shape there. Then four then now you get them started racing to management. See, everybody's on the same page program. You're never going to get big, you're never going to get build an army and go to war if you're a government and you get. Everybody gets to do their own basic training program. Well, I'll just learn training with yoga. So I'll go six weeks with yoga. I like yoga. And well, I got a stretching program. Well, I like to swim. I'm going to do a six weeks of swimming and I'll show up and you give me that my, you know, my desert camo outfit and a gun or two. I'll read a book on that and watch YouTube about how you fire it and then I'll be ready to go. And so you get all these collection. You get an army of 300 people and they've done 300 different things. What kind of army are you going to have? No army at all. You're going to have a mob of people. You can't do nothing. You know, you could get one good trained person beat them. But see the people who can't get an explosion, they don't have people working the same program. And when they, they get them going, they get off track. Well, you got to get on a track if you want to run a railroad. You got to have that railroad can twist and turn and this. But everybody's got to stay on the same track. And if you could stay on that track, guess what? You're going to get to where you want to go. And so that's how you get big and you stay on track. Everybody runs on the same game plan, the same program. This is how the first rail of how you get them in here's the second rail of how you get them started. And so everybody stays on that. So then you go down here, okay, he's Going to try and get three. He's going to try and get three. He's going to try and they'll bring in one guy. He'll get. He'll recruit a shoe. You know, it looks supposed to be a human being, but it turns into a ship. This guy will get a concrete block. This guy over here actually brings in a couple of human beings. This guy over here brings in, who knows what that thing is, some alien from outer space. This guy brings in a human being. This guy brings in three human beings in the market, when I call them human beings and people you could do something with, in between all the. The weirdness and everything. And then, you know, and this guy brings in some. And then, who knows, you come in here and you throw a few more. Well, look at this. All of a sudden, now you got, you know, it's starting to take off. And then they come and they do the same thing. And now you add up all the odds and ends, and now you got yourself a big army here. And then you come down, another month or two, you got yourself, and it starts to explode. That's how it goes. Ideally, in a perfect world, it would work like this. It's not a perfect world. Doesn't work, you know, or it gets at least two. You can explode. You just explode slower this way. Here, it will not explode, because that's a salesman's approach. But you'll explode. See, you sell people on this. This would, you know, people will, you know, will grow. It'll just be slower. This will be faster. It won't be perfect. It'll be more like this. But if you stay on track, you keep people on track. David, you can get to where you want to go because there's no place out, you know, it's only that the progress only stops when they, you know, they get off the track. They go here, they go here. So that's how you get explosive growth. That's how you get popcorn growth. That's how you get more people coming in in a shorter period of time than you can possibly keep up with. It's not weird. It's not mystical science. It's logical. It's duplicatable. It's how it happens. It happened 30 years ago, 40 years ago, last year. It's how it's going to happen next year, five years, ten years from now. This is how it happens in the real world. You're selling the same drain. You keep people on track, following the same thing. You know, this is a. The track through there. People will do their best to keep up with it and of the ones doing their best. And you're training, supervising, you're going to get more and more results every month. There's no excuse to ever have a slump if you're staying on track and you're selling everybody in the same, and that is if the manager is doing his job. So that's what I would say about how, how to get explosive growth.
