Excerpt from a talk by Larry Weidel arguing that high achievers follow curiosity; many great works of art are created by artists before age 30 (examples: Michelangelo’s Pietà at 21, David around 24). He suggests creativity/fun tends to decline with age.

The high achievers are usually following their curiosity. They got an idea, let's try this. And so you're exactly right of that. And as a result, most, in fact, the bulk of the great art in the world has been created before the artist was 30 years old. A lot of it out there, like the Pieta was the. When Michelangelo was 21. I think that David, he was 24 or something like that. But I think what happens as we get older, we lose that fun thing.
