The speaker (a single presenter) frames sales broadly as everyday communication and relationship-building: we are constantly "selling"—to ourselves, partners, employers, patients—whenever we try to influence an outcome. Mastering sales (communication) reduces contention and stress and supports life goals, including financial comfort. The opening emphasizes that sales skills apply across roles (relationships, work, healthcare) and ties successful sales to clearer life goals and improved well-being.
Sales is nothing more than communications between one or more people. In other words, 1. We're selling ourselves all the time. Yeah, right. Like, man, should I go to the gym today? I know I'm supposed to go to the gym today, but I, you know, I don't really feel like it. You know, there's a movie on television or, you know, my significant other, I want to spend time or I have my kids or whatever. And so we're selling that. Selling folks, where it's communication on a level where we're trying to have an end to something, solve a problem, create a better opportunity for a future. Now, if you're in a significant relationship or any relationship, you are selling. You're selling on that relationship value every single day. If you're in work and you are in operations, you're selling, you know, you're selling your worth in the job every single day. If you're in a position that you wouldn't think was be sales like a, I don't know, a doctor. Yeah, you're selling. You're selling whether or not your patients are going to come back. You're selling to the. The administration, maybe the hospital that you're affiliated with. It's all relationship building, and it always has been. So that's the reason to understand sales, because we're communicating. And the more we can communicate and the more efficiently and the better we communicate that the easier and more happy we will be because we'll have less contention in our lives. We'll have less stress in our life. And then sales, also, when it's done right, there's a goal attached to that. And that goal is attached to how do we want to live our life and what kind of money do we support ourselves in doing that. And I've never found most people in sales, Larry, maybe a couple that ever said to me, you know what? I want to be less than comfortable. They all say, I want to be a little more than comfortable and even be able to buy some luxury stuff without guilt.
