Short spoken monologue (YouTube video) arguing that everyone needs motivation and inspiration because people "run out of gas." The speaker mocks the attitude of those who claim they don't need motivation, using metaphors (plants not needing water, gas stations) to illustrate that enthusiasm and drive must be periodically recharged to accomplish goals.
What's the thing about coaching and motivation and things like that? The biggest idiots in the world are saying, well, I don't. What is that? Another motivation meeting? I don't need one of those. Yeah, yeah, you idiot. And all the plants at your house, they don't need any more water either. You know, your lawn, it doesn't need any more water. Doesn't need, you know, just let it grow. It's got. It's had enough water. And you, by the way, we're not going to give you any more meals either. We're not going to give any more water for you either, because, you know, you've already had water. You've already, you know, you've been drinking water all your life. We're not going to let you breathe either, because, you know, you've already been breathing all your life. How much more breathing do you need to do? You've already had enough. You don't need any more motivation. Everybody needs motivation because we all run out of gas. We run. You accomplish things on enthusiasm and, and adrenaline and drive and faith, and it's that it's got to be fueled by something, and you got to be recharged. That's why we have gas stations. You got to recharge that car. So anyway, it's the idiots who say, I don't need to be motivated, they're the ones who need it the most. We all need motivation. We all need inspiration and because, you know, we've got to stay fired up if we're going to get anything done.
