A first-person monologue from a YouTube video (Part 3) in which the speaker describes long-term athletic ambitions (aiming to start on a team, earn a college football scholarship, and aspire to the NFL), the difficulty of balancing competitive sports with a demanding academic load (neurobiology major), traveling for games while studying, and how overcoming setbacks built resilience and persistence.
I've always been. Again, again, I'm going to say it's through sports. And I've always had, like, even when I was younger, my goal was to be a starter on my team and eventually get a college football scholarship and then hopefully eventually play in the NFL. All that stuff. All that is the goal, right? A lot of obstacles you got to get through to accomplish those goals, and working through those is extremely difficult sometimes, especially when you're trying to do well in school and, you know, in college, neurobiology major, all those kids had really nothing else going on besides studying and doing that. And I'm traveling around playing games and studying on airplanes and everybody else is taking a nap and that kind of thing. That's hard on a young brain, you know. But being able to work through that and, you know, has made me, I think, probably more resilient than most and able to brush off problems and just continually keep the goal at mind. Everybody's falls and fails, but it's how you pick yourself up and move forward that I think makes the difference in situations like this. Foreign business.
