Sales - The Eye Opener Presentation

Larry Weidel explains the Eye Opener, a brief sales presentation designed to build curiosity with potential clients. It's one of three presentation types, distinguished by how it engages prospects and gets them interested in learning more.
A powerful tool veteran salespeople use is a presentation called the Eye Opener. The Eye Opener presentation, it's in essence there's kind of three presentations you use. Most people when they start out, they think they're always talking to people and trying to get them to sit down and do the one on one. You know, if I can just get them one on one, everything would work. You know, get the, you know, the one or the couple or the people are going to decide, get them right alone, uninterrupted, with me, bam, if I can. But sometimes it's hard to arrange. And so one thing you can use to get fill in that gap is and to keep people interested. Because what you want to do is make sure that delays do not keep you from getting things done. And a lot of times when you're sitting down, you're trying to find 30 or 40 minutes to do a full one on one. Schedules are just too busy so you can fit in easily to create interest and to build some intensity and maybe get them more flexible by their time is to do the eye Opener. Now what the eye opener is, is a 5 to 10 minute quick run through of the highlights. You know, you, you put some facts in front of them, you put some benefits, you put, you give some quick examples and you let them know. It's basically a, you know, as facts, it's a preview. It's like going to the movie and you get a trailer of movies ready to come, you know, kind of fast and furious, you know, furious. You don't, you bring up a lot of things but you don't fully explain it because you don't have time. But you kind of lift up the veil and show them. You're focusing on, of course, the positives, you know, the highlights of the presentation. That's what the highlights are. Just like, you know, if you go to the trailer of a movie, you want them to think, you know, the thing. You laugh, you'll cry, you'll get excited. This is, you want to get it in their mind that this is something they want to see. Not just they're doing you a favor in agreeing to this meeting right here. This is something that you can do over coffee. You can do it over breakfast. Also, if they have the chance, you can get a chance to maybe set aside five or 10 minutes with your trainer, your upline, your office manager and bring them by the office for a quick, hi, how are you? Looking forward to seeing you. We got some great things to show you, a quick high and buy. But to get the Whole idea is to build curiosity and excitement about what you have to offer to them. And it's something you're excited about. They'd be excited about it too if they had a. That's supposed to be curiosity buzz. They'd be excited too if they had a chance to. If they knew what you knew about it. But you know, they can't slow down that much and you don't want to annoy them. But maybe you can get an eye opener. You get a quick five or 10 minutes. So you need to have that in your toolbox to go along with the one that makes you flexible. Now what's this one down here? Well, this one is our group. You know, the third meeting is. And it doesn't fit in all situations, you don't need it. But the group meeting, the great thing about the group meeting is you get the magic of life. Large numbers of people, you get to reinforce the things that you did one on one. They have more credibility in large numbers. There's a more of a energy. When you get large numbers of people, they can see that they're not the only people involved. They get to see your best people. A lot of times the best people in the office and the most powerful people, most credibility and best knowledge and skill set are doing the meeting. So they get to see the presentation, put it there done by the best people. And not that you don't do a great job, but it's just great to see it reinforced by someone else. And it helps to reinforce and build conviction that they're on the right track. That doesn't work in all situations, but it works in a lot of them. So the three styles of meetings, your eye opener, your one on one and your group meeting, they combine to give you a real power and a variety pack of ways to get your message in front of people. It could be you didn't even have. You weren't even able to arrange an eye opener. You never sat down for the one to one. The first thing they see is in a group setting. You know, usually you'll be able to do the one on one, but sometimes the one on ones are slow and sometimes you kind of run out of prospects. And it's easy to generate prospects. A lot easier using the eye opener with presentation with people maybe you don't know quite so well. So anyway, that's the eye opener presentation. Make sure you've got one. It increases your flexibility in dealing with future prospects, future clients.
