Thank you, Larry. Thanks for having me.
Let me give you a topic and see what you say about it. And this is timing. You know, it's one thing about when people are out there looking for a business to get involved in or with a company, you want to evaluate it from a lot of different standpoints. But one of the first things you want to evaluate is what is the idea that this company has? What are they? What is their mission? What is their service? What is their product? And the thing is also, what is the timing? Is this the right time for that idea? But timing, you know, it's like saying the right thing is not necessarily all that's involved. Like, if someone gives a response, it's the right saying the right thing at the right time, making the right decision at the right time in terms of expansion or, you know, like even in war, you know, there's times you attack and then there's times you withdraw, you know, get your troops out of there so you can move them 100 yards down the road and attack there. But if you leave them where they are, they're going to get wiped out, you know, and so, you know, timing is such a key of, like, when to bring up subjects, delicate subjects with people, or also timing on expansion. You know, if you're, you know, to where you know the money's right, or if you don't do it now, maybe the timing won't come around again. But there's more. Timing is such a, you know, life teaches us, like the planets moving around of a certain thing. They said like three or four days ago, some kind of star was in the sky that hasn't been up there since the Middle Ages. And, you know, you need to get out and see it. And of course, the next two nights were cloudy, so I couldn't see it.
But, yeah, it's snowed here.
Yeah. Did it. So the thing is like, you know, but then it's gone. You know, timing's gone. So life teaches us that timing is important. What have you found out? What would you have to say about timing being critical?
So me personally, I agree. The one thing that I can say just from my personal experience on missing the right timing or hitting it, is just trust your gut. I feel as humans, our own personal perceptions are our most powerful tool. Let's put it that way. Because for me, sometimes I feel I have lost expansion because I didn't jump at the right time. And sometimes I feel that I did take the right expansion because I did do the right decisions at the right time. It's also, you know, I feel. But let's put it this way. Another thing that I would like to say is whether it's the right timing or not making a decision is better than not making one. So right or wrong, the decision, like, you know, you come to a V, you go left or right, you can't just sit there. I don't know, Let me think. I don't know. You just. You have to go left or right. So whether you go left or right, whether you go in the right direction or the wrong, it's better than sitting there and not doing anything.
Hey, listen, there's a lot of information online, but there aren't a lot of people who have actually done something. In my case, I've actually built a successful business that's accrued over $5 billion in assets under management and has done well even during trying times. Now, if you want to know exactly how I've done this, go to Whiteellumwinning.com webinar Now, I've compressed a decade of learning into five short weeks. Just for those of you who want to give yourself an incredible advantage and are tired of waiting and watching others move, absolutely.
You've got to be proactive. You can't be paralyzed by fear. But it is, you know, pretty much every day in every situation where we come to a fork in the road, and it's not always go left or right. It's a lot like some of these decisions are like poker, you know, or like card game. Like, you know, like even blackjack, you know, you could say, hold, I'm going to hold with what I got, or give me another card. You know what I'm saying? But, yeah, they don't let you get. If you want to play blackjack, you got to play blackjack. You know, you gotta. You gotta make one of those decisions. Hold or card. And so that's a lot of. That is the way it is in life. But if you're. You don't Think about timing. Like, the impact of your. Like, even in blackjack, you're thinking about the impact of this decision. It could go this way or it could go that way. But the great thing about once you decide to launch and to go, you know, the decision, go, go. Well, like I say in my book serial winner, it's like the first thing, go with everything you've got, you know, overdue. You know, overdue. Cause it's going to take more effort than you think. And, you know, launch with a bang. Don't launch with a whimper. Don't go and have you. Can you get in the ring with Mike Tyson? You better be ready to swing a punch because he's going to come at you and either. Either be ready to give him everything you got or get out of the ring quick. You know, never get in there. But here's the thing. You start with a bang, you give it everything you've got. You overdo, and then all of a sudden, if the. Again, your gut tells you that, whoops, this is the wrong fight, okay, this is a bad timing, you know, because the great thing about plunging ahead, you go ahead and you find things out that you didn't know if you hadn't gone ahead. And you can always go and readjust your decision. You know, you launch with a bang, you know, again, that's like in a war. You know, you move 300 troops in position, you know, to take, and then you find out, oh, you know, the bridge is out, or they've got a. You know, the enemy has got a big battalion of rain down on that spot. You know, they're vulnerable. Let's get them out of there. You know, get them out, move them down here and attack from another side. You know, it's moving forward, moving back, you know, type. That's what life is. But regardless, even though sometimes the decision is to hold, you're not stopping. You're like, biding your time. You're looking for the moment to. When you can jump ahead. And so you can look back on life and say that you've missed out on some opportunities because people were. You listen to people that. And you overruled what your instinct was.
Yeah. But, you know, it's also like, here's another thing to add to that is, I think, timing and decisions, but also responsibility, because again, you. If you do decide to make a decision, whether it's the right or wrong one, at that time, you do have to own the responsibility, Right? So if it's the wrong one, but it's the right timing, Then you, you can't go, oh, it just didn't go well. Well, yeah, you have to own it. So I do. I do feel they're all interconnected.
Absolutely. And the thing is, the reason you can feel good about owning it is you're always learning. You know, I mean, that's, that's one reason why people will say, you're just such a genius. You know, they'll come up and they'll say that. I'm sure people say, you're just such a genius. How did you figure this out? What I say when people come to me on that is like, well, if I was such a genius, I wish I told myself that many years ago because I could have saved myself a lot of disasters. Because the way you become a genius is to make millions of mistakes, and you learn things not to do. You learn more things not to do because you've done them than other people. And so, as a result, you look like a genius. But so you're always going to learn, even if it turns out wrong, you're going to get information you wouldn't have got any other way. So that's some kind of thoughts on timing. Thanks so much, Mateo. Look forward to the next time.
Thank you, Larry.
