A short YouTube monologue offering hiring advice: be intentional about hires, set clear expectations, and be transparent about cultural fit. The speaker warns that reaching targets (e.g., 30 deals) is difficult in year one, requires repetitive, unpleasant work (cold calling/phone time), and becomes rewarding in later years if the hire persists.
I think we've all made some bad hires in our time. I think it's just learning and being very intentional about who we bring into our world and knowing what we want and being very clear around those expectations. And I think personally, you know, for me, talking to a new person to the team, it's them understanding, like, getting to 30 deals is not easy in your first year, especially if you have zero spirit. Right. And tell them how difficult and how bad it's going to suck to be on the phone just over and over and over and doing the same things. But it will be rewarding in year two, three and four, you know, to get up for that. So I think just around the culture fit is just being so transparent about how hard it's going to be and how rewarding it's going to be.
