An Easy Way To SUCCEED Going Into 2026

Lars Hedenborg argues you need a three-year vision paired with a one-year plan, not just yearly goals. He uses vacation planning as an analogy: incremental one-year planning fails because it doesn't force the different first-year choices needed to hit a bigger target. His cadence covers three years down to weekly actions across six planning buckets.

Let's say you're doing, you know, you, you can afford to take an epic two week family adventure style like trip every year. Let's say now there's one per year. You know, how much effort do you put into that two week trip? All the planning in the different cities you're going to hit in Europe and like staying at this hotel, then we're eating, we have to capture this meal and we don't want to do all the sightseeing. But you know, most people will put a whole lot of planning even into just a vacation, but they don't put the same level of planning into their business or into their life. So it's that same intention. So I find that agents that set a one year plan, only let's say this agent that he's done 5 million in production each of the last four years, has always had a goal to double it, but didn't set the three year vision. So let's say the three year vision was 20 million. Then you're like, oh crap, I'm at 5 million. What has to happen in the first year of this three year vision for me to lock in that 20 million? You're thinking totally differently than just incremental growth. That's why doing a one year plan without a three year vision I think will land pretty flat. For some of you that take this very, very seriously and get the results that we're intending. You may have another two to three hours of work. I remember some of my early plans, I took like way too many hours to put together but there was so much clarity on like I even did a, my first version was a ten year, a five year, a three year, a one year, broke it down into quarterly, monthly, weekly and then daily. And so that's overkill. We're not going to do all that. But we are in six core buckets. We're going to have a three year vision, we're going to have a one year plan. We're going to talk about 90 day outcomes and then how to translate that into weekly and daily. And this is a, a living process. So you may over commit in all the areas and not have enough priorities like prioritization where you have to recalibrate and that's part of this journey as well.
