Dan Jones Real Estate B School Case Study

Dan Jones, a Charlotte real estate agent, hit 104 deals in four years after joining B School and working with coach Lars Hedenborg. He credits the program with clarifying his priorities: family, time management, and delegation. Jones went from unfocused hustle to building a business aligned with wanting to be an involved dad.
This is Dan Jones, owner of Carolina Real Estate Experts here in the Charlotte Lake Norman area. I've been doing real estate since about 2009, 2010. I started with Lars on his team and was on the north side of Charlotte. So about 2012 decided to venture out, stay with Lars, but do my own thing kind of up towards the north side of Charlotte and created a big of a Mess. And then 2014 reached out to Lars and started coaching with Lars in 2015. I didn't really know what I wanted. All I knew was what I didn't want and that's what I had at that moment. I felt I was pulled in 50 different directions. And getting on the right track for me meant just a very simple path to a better business, a better personal life and just allowing other folks to step up in a more substantial role within our business. We focused a lot in 2015, just as a community, on our whys. Why are we doing this? What's important to us. I remember being young and my dad would be gone for a week at a time and waiting in the window, like waiting for my dad. It took me a solid 3, 4, 5 months to self discover what my core values were. And when I discovered the core values was when, you know, I really wanted to deliver on being a dad, like a really good dad. And I wanted to have a life where I could be there like when I wanted to be there for my wife and daughter. And you know, that that was a driving factor. So almost didn't join B school because of the money. It was a huge investment to make, but I knew it was going to be the best investment ever because I knew who Lars was, I knew all the coaching he's previously had and I knew he was going to deliver and he. And he's still delivering in. 2015 was my first four year B school and the goal was to hit 100 deals and we hit 104. You really start to get a feeling for stepping out of the business, but working on the things you want to, that really moves the business forward. Time is a really important aspect because you can't make more time, you can always make more money. So from a time standpoint, B school just gives you the idea of where is your time most valuable and where does it need to be. I wouldn't recommend rebs to everyone, but anyone who's really looking to grow something and impact lives at a really high level and it's just about impacting lives because what we do here and how we invest in other people is what just elevates and changes families and personal and business lives forever.
