How B-School Helped Andrew Lamb Get It Right the Second Time Around

Andrew Lamb shares how a coaching program helped him build a successful real estate team after earlier struggles. He credits the accountability and actionable strategies from Lars Hedenborg's coaching for turning his business around.
Started in real Estate in 2011. It was a tough time, no equity sales, it was all short sales, foreclosures and it was a tough business. So I started out getting buyer leads, working on that, and then got a pretty good flow, going over 100 leads a month. But didn't really know how to handle all that. Didn't know the scripts, didn't know really how to run anything. And by 2012, you know, when all those foreclosures and short sales decided beard, I was forced out of the business. Had to get a full time job to take care of my family. I was recently married, just had a baby. So around 2013, got a referral from someone, was still licensed, ended up closing that deal. Looked at the check compared to my what was on my W2 and thought what the heck am I doing? So got back into real estate and figured if I'm going to do it, I'm going to go full force. And decided to build a team. Got a buyer platform, Commissions Inc. Started getting a ton of leads again and realized quickly I have to figure out what I'm doing and get myself off of this roller coaster of, you know, selling eight homes in a month and then having to service that. Not knowing what to do in terms of developing new business. So searched out, you know, a good coach and I saw that Lars was really involved in a lot of the coaching programs I was looking at initially, but had done well above, you know, the production of everyone else in those programs. So I figured if you're going to go somewhere, go to someone who's already taken all of it in and packaged it just for you. So that's why I went to Lars. Definitely not feeling as much overwhelmed as I used to. I have four buyer's agents and two ISAs and I'm still on the listing side building that out, but I know the buyer side is taken care of. So I can come to events like this and coach and know that my lead buyer agent has training and everything handled in my admin while I'm away. So, you know, it's time. Taken out of the office but still growing the business. Definitely like the lead management protocol, just how to keep my team accountable. So that's been huge because that's not really who I am. I just kind of put my head down, get to work. But really learning how to connect with my people, hold them accountable, build sustainable relationships where, you know, I can truly influence them and help their lives and help them reach their goals, that's been the biggest thing these intensives are like nothing else I've been to before. So I've been to coaching events, I've been to the big rah rah events where they bring in big speakers and all that, but really didn't walk away with anything actionable. So when I come to these events, it's not only topics that no one else ever talks about, but it's actionable steps and implementation and practical tools you can use in your business so that you can go back and a week later have things in place so that your business is better off.
