An introvert with no sales background closed 44 real estate deals in their first year without cold calling. They credit sitting down 2-3 hours daily to generate new business and using direct-response marketing like mailed pieces that get prospects to call you instead.
Before I got into real estate, I had no sales background whatsoever. Generally I'm super introverted and I still managed to close 44 my first full year as the great financial crisis was really coming into full swing. So I think the most important thing if you're going to get into real estate, it's just deciding what's going to make you money. What are the activities that you need to focus on? The daily, every day, non negotiable. You need to sit down for two to three hours and just generate new business. And this doesn't have to be cold calling, it doesn't have to be door knock. I've never knocked on a door. It can be whatever fits. Your personality can be the thing that you double down on and you focus on. So for me, I wanted people calling me. And so I decided that I was going to become a really good marketer. So instead of outbound dialing expireds or FSBOs for sale by owners, I just figured out what could I send them in the mail where they receive it, they read it and they call the phone number and they're calling me. Way easier conversation when they're bothering me versus me bothering them. So I became a really good direct response marketer, meaning that I was getting people to call me and I was able to scale my business as a result of that.
