How Matt Greco Is Using His Business as a Vehicle to a More Fulfilling Life

Matt Greco, a Hudson, Ohio broker-owner, spent 11 years grinding in real estate before two years of coaching with Lars Hedenborg changed how he worked. He systematized his buyer and seller processes, built team accountability, and shifted from doing deals himself to running the business as CEO. Now he uses the income to fund time with family and mission work.
I'm Matt Greco from Hudson, Ohio. I've been in real estate for 11 years, and I am a broker owner of a smaller independent real estate company in that area. I've been coaching with Lars for just about two years now. I've known Lars for quite a while. We met at a conference, one of his first real estate conferences, when he was a new agent. And so I was fortunate enough to be able to get to know him on a more personal level. So once he started his coaching program, I just knew just how well he was doing with his business and just how systemized and streamlined he was. And so for me, it just was a very obvious choice that he would be the best coach. For me, I think before I started coaching with Lars, my business things were just very haphazard still. Just even going through some different coaching programs just didn't have a whole lot of focus and clearly defined goals and objectives. And that's something that Lars had really helped me with and just systemizing different things and so just having a clearly defined approach for going after buyers, a clearly defined approach for going after sellers, ways of just holding myself and other agents on my team accountable and just having clear objectives for them to achieve every single week. And so those are areas that he's definitely helped with a lot as well as. Not even just on a business level, but just kind of on a personal level as well. You know, we've set, you know, goals just for, you know, just physical health and spirituality and just things that play into the, you know, family and relationships, things that play into the whole picture of, you know, why, you know, we're doing this whole thing in real estate to begin with. You know, Lars program is different because he provides a far more of a turnkey approach. Things that you can really systematically and quickly implement implementing your business. And everything that he provides is a proven system that he is currently using in his business right now. And so it's not, you know, we're not trying out concepts. We're not doing something that he had done, you know, years ago. It's things that are current, that are relevant and are in current use in his business right now. So it's very meaningful in that aspect. You know, the events are. Sometimes it's hard to get away. In my mind, it's hard to get away to one of these events because I think, well, gosh, I could just put that extra time into work and pushing ahead. But the events really are a very meaningful component of the whole coaching program. It's an opportunity to sit down and Take some time away, network with some other like minded people that are at all different stages of their business. And so it's very beneficial in that aspect and just an opportunity to kind of pull everything together, you know, get some questions answered and some clarity in ways that maybe you don't necessarily always get without coming to an event like this and having the opportunity to just be fully immersed in business growth or business planning rather than just doing it every day. Success. To me, this is something that I've really redefined in the last couple of years too. For me, I would love to be able to step out of production within the next couple of years. I'd love to be able to really step back into more of a CEO position. Something that could be managed with maybe a very minimal amount of hours, something like 10 hours a week. So that, that could free me up to really pursue what my real interests are in life, which is, you know, you know, family relationships, you know, giving back, you know, in other ways I'd like to get more involved in mission work and have more time and, and resources to be able to do that. And so to me, you know, my real estate business is a vehicle to be able to get me to there and then also, you know, it's also in and of itself is an opportunity or a just to reach out and touch lives both for people that we do business with, our customers and clients that we serve.
