Short presentation arguing that social proof—online reviews on platforms like Google Business Profile—is a key non-paid way to attract clients (real estate agents, attorneys, dentists). Uses a 2017 personal anecdote about a dentist asking for a five-star Google review and noting that traditional marketing (e.g., radio) had declining returns. Emphasizes that customer reviews build trust and drive outreach.
Social proof is basically people going online and saying nice things about you. And when people search for a real estate agent or an attorney or a dentist or whatever, they're going to find your Google business profile and they're going to see those good things and the social proof, others saying how awesome you are are the reason they're going to reach out to you. So this was back in 2017. I visited my dentist and when I checked out for my dentist, so I was just sitting down to like pay for. And this was a cleaning is my first time at this dentist. And it was a unique, it was one of those businesses where you go in and there's a different level of client care involved. They kind of gave me a tour of the whole office and all the different service stations if I ever needed this or that or their whitening station. And the girl that was checking me out asked me a question. She said, she picked up her phone, she said, hey, have you left us a five star Google review? And I'm like, well, you know, I haven't. You know, it's my first time here and here it is. Like, literally I did this with our Bounty dentistry. And I said some kind words and off we went. And I was like, man, that was awesome. I asked her a question, I said, you know, why do you think the owner, owners are having you do that? And she said, the owner shared with us that some of their traditional marketing isn't working. They spent a lot of. I was actually on the radio with these guys, so I, I knew that. And we didn't go big on radio, but I knew that it was not the return that it was when I once did it.
