How to Manage Your Time With an Intentional Plan of Action

The speaker presents a concise, action-oriented guide to shift from a producer to an owner mindset by managing time with an intentional plan of action. Core advice: adopt a morning ritual (5–10 minutes) to plan and visualize the day before opening email, define top daily tasks with estimated time/value, and build buffers for reactive deal/office work so proactive, high-value activities (prospecting, systems work, networking) aren't displaced. The talk emphasizes that consistently choosing low-value activities leads to stagnant or declining business results.
I did a longer presentation of time management in one of my monthly webinars. But here I just want to boil it down to the things that you, you have to do if you're going to make the shift from producer to owner. You have to make serious decisions and be aware of how you use your time every day. So the first here is plan your day in advance. So your morning ritual, quote, unquote. And I've got a. I'll sort of have a comment on that in a second here. But your morning ritual should include time to plan out your day in detail. So there are limited surprises. You build in buffer for deal and office work, but don't let it take over. And so there's a book about the morning miracle, which is a really cool. And I see it all over Facebook and I have real estate agents, friends of mine, and even clients of mine that have kind of gotten into it. You know, the morning miracle, you know, it's kind of getting up and meditating and having this hour of time where you do these certain things. But I don't necessarily, I'm not talking about that so much as five or 10 minutes where you're planning your day, you know, so this is a ritual. This could be when you have your cup of coffee and you first get to your office before you open email and even think about getting getting into everyone else's decisions on how you're going to use your day. This is where you are taking out time to plan your day, to visualizing your day and putting it on paper on what has to happen today in order for me to move, move forward and measurably improve my life. And what I know I've already said my goals are so working with an intentional plan of action. It's the only way to avoid getting caught up in just this putting out fire mode and always reacting. And especially if you're in, if you're in the transaction environment and you're doing deals, you have to be able to pull yourself out of reactive mode and be proactive. You'll have built in times in your day where you can put out those fires and you can react into the deal environment and do office work and catch up on the email and your cell phone and whatnot. But it has to be a deliberate, intentional way of going about your day. You know Chet Holmes and the ultimate sales machine? There's a chapter in there for time management for billionaires or something like that. He talks about a top six things that you must get done done no matter what every day so every day, that's pretty much what you're doing. Every day when you're having your morning ritual, you're deciding what your top things are and how much time they're going to take and the value of those things. So if you're still in production or you're prospecting, you know, you should have prospecting. It could be that you're working on some systems, you have some systems work. Maybe you're working on a pre list package or marketing pieces, maybe you're doing networking with past clients or you're setting up lunches or coffees with people that refer you business. Here's the thing I do know. If your business and life aren't what you want, it means that you are. That you're consistently making choices with your time that don't, don't support your goals and dreams. And yeah, of course there's, you know, let's take the simple example of for your agents and prospecting, you know, the choices they make today and for the next 30, 60, 90 days are going to be, their business is going to be a direct reflection. And so if they have a goal of selling, you know, 12 houses a quarter and the third quarter they spend no time prospecting, their fourth quarter is going to be total crap. And so if you're making choices consistently that don't support your goals and dreams, that's where the disconnect is. And it's all about time management and productivity.
